Oh, you mean Americans are fat!
Well in Finland you don't need to break the wall to get people to a hospital do you now? With all that candy nibbling surely we'll get at par with the "civilized" world, as our own lard sauces ain't good enough in pumping up the weight and mass. The next "ethnic delicacy" in Finland will by no doubt be deep-fried mars bars scottish style...
Need to go check out the place. My boss has a craving for Reese's peanut butter cups, need to brownnose a bit

Can't convert me from Fazermint's but I'm all for hot sauces and some jerk seasoning.
Cheers, Hank W.

I wandered over to Mr. Nibble the other day. The place is tiny, and I mean
*tiny*, there's barely room to fart. So if you need to fart, you might be
better off hanging 'round in Behnford's. It's a kiosk mostly oriented toward the
sweet-tooth, as the shop-name suggests, so mainly various candies à la
Behnford's but at slightly more reasonable prices. Not much in the salty chips
department apart from a couple of bags of Lay's and Dalton's peanuts
which they already sell here. No hot sauces in sight, but they sell cans of
refried beans, if you're into that sort of thing. It didn't look like there was
much of a 'clearance sale' going on at all though.

No - only enlarge the doorway by 100% - Finland is now supposedly the second-most obese country on the planet.

Maybe this has been covered here, but I was most amazed to see quite a sizable selection of American candy and cookies in the K-Pikkolo at Pasila station, what can be the deal?

Joint projects of the American and Finnish Dental Associations - with added contributions from both countries' insulin supply companies.

This is the first I've heard of Mr. Nibble. Maybe they should put a banner up on this forum or
a certain blog I know of and get some serious exposure with the ideal clientele!
Maybe if Behnford's actually did some advertising, their store wouldn't be more than an expensive junk food snack shop.

Mr. Nibble is a very small shop. It seemed they had more sweets than anything. But they had the semi-sweet chocolate chips and Behnford's didn't. Unless Mr. Nibble were to enlarge, I can see a need for both places.

Did Behnford's spill your pint? You seem to take every opportunity to rubbish the service they provide.
As far as I am concerned, they are far better than searching all the little asian shops in the folorn hope of finding one out of date product.
Do you have some constructive advice for Behnfords? What would you like them to stock? Have you ever actually spoken to the person behind the counter?!

I actually managed to stumble past this store the first day they were open (Think hungry American walking past a clear glass window filled with American candy).
I was really pleased as my skittles + Reese's Pieces + Cake was a LOT cheaper then Behnford's had been.
The girl that worked there was really pleasant. I ended going back a few days later to grab a few more skittles. I believe the price was something like 1 € for the skittles (a real bag) and 2.20 € for some Heinz yellow mustard (hate the stuff, but unfortunately its used in my recipes!).
Basically , if your walking along Mannerheimintie towards the Art Museum (say from Stockmann's, on the Stockmann's side of the road). A bit before you hit Simonkatu (I think this is the road, its the big road that goes past the Railway Station as well as Kamppi etc.) there is an entrance to your right that leads to a an area with a bunch of shops on either side. You should see specifically Pizza Hut in front of you. Now this area goes all the way through to Rautatientori. There is a point at which there is a stairway that leads to the Metro station. Mr. Nibbles is straight ahead there somewhere (I think right away on your left) if you walk PAST the metro station entrance.
Lolz, I hope girl directions help!

Went for a haircut at lunchtime, I'd run out of chewing gum so stopped into the R-Kioski next door... €3.30 for a bag of Jenkki...
Said to myself "Sod that for a game of tin soldiers, I'll go to K-Supermarket over the road". I turned around and before I could leave I found myself looking at a shelf with a stack of ...
€2 for 3 bags. I hadn't seen them outside of Helsinki before, specifically not outside of Behnfords, where they are certainly more than €0.66 a pack. The missus will be delighted (she likes them even more than I).

Nah, just disappointed. They had a nice big store with a wide variety of actually good, then it turned into a tiny junk food store with expensive prices.
