I think Medo is just saying he is looking forward to a happy life and that he would ne a kind and considerate father EVENTUALLY. In the meantime NO ONE will help him get a visa, and he needs a letter of invitation. I mean Ukrainian Woman cannot even get tourist visa to UK without formal private invitation. Strangley Ukrainian men can. :o

Failing all of the above Medo is a wind up artist, but I suspect not, and highly recommend the guy to have a frontal lobotomy rather to contemplate coming to Frozen Finland with his limited knowledge and finance.
I do not need to know you will attend my Funeral. I would rather you call just to say Hi !!

you can, yeh. after you get the residence permit they should send out a brochure to you explaining all of it, as well as studying allowance, help looking for a job etc. there's most probably info on the kela website.

They pretty much roll out the red carpet after you get married.

Ive heard that after getting married, i should go to the unemployment office and subscribe, then i'll be getting about 400e a month for living.. is that so?
as well as, they are gonna pay me about 150e a month if i go study the finnish language somewhere ( 150e a month, for the whole period i learn) .

how long do i have to wait for my residence permit after i apply? do i have to go back to my home country?

you can apply for a residence permit based on family ties (or marriage in your case) here in finland. how long it takes depends on where you're applying. mine took just over 3 weeks where i am, but it can take 2-3 months in helsini. you're allowed to stay here without a visa while waiting for the decision.
from what i understand in the booklet i got, you can apply for unemployment benefits with kela, but you're supposed to be looking for work and that means going to interviews and applying for jobs. before you can receive any payments you have to register as a job seeker at the local employment office. i haven't seen anything about the 150€ a month for studying finnish though.

I've lived here for 4 months now with my Finn husband. I reported myself to employment office already and submitted letters of recommendations from my former employers, but until now I don't get any benefit.

I went to the employment office to ask if I could just state that I wanted to be a full-time housewife so that I needn't report myself every 3 months to the office, but they seemed to be confused on what to do since they didn't speak too good English.

Weird stuff...so has anyone here ever done such a thing? I don't wanna have to go back to the office every 3 months (since I don't get any benefit at all) 'coz I don't think I can get a job here anyway with my 0,5 knowledge of Finnish.

Can I just stop going there???

AMEL
