Which washing machine and why?

Where to buy? Where can I find? How do I? Getting started.

That's why I bought a Daewoo fridge with an ice maker instead of Siemens and saved a 1000e. They are the same appliance, just the badge is different. So get your facts straight.

BSH has other bedfellows, including KitchenAid, for which it will start making induction cooktops in the summer. Keeping it in the family, KitchenAid turns out a built-in side-by-side refrigerator for Thermador. Bosch's relationships spread as far as Asia--South Korea's Daewoo Electronics makes a Bosch side-by-side refrigerator.

I guess even you will notice the difference between your first statement: "Bosch and Siemens are made in the same factory and are practically the same machines (except for their fridges/freezers which are made by Daewoo)." = The Bosch and Siemens Fridges and Freezers are made by Daewoo. And what you quoted here "South Korea's Daewoo Electronics makes a Bosch side-by-side refrigerator."

So even if Bosch or Siemens have a certain number of Side-by-Side fridges made by Daewoo, this does not mean that ALL Bosch and Siemens fridges are made by Daewoo as you claimed in your first message. Even your "marketing manager for Gigantti" will not say anything else.

So, yes, we finaly got your facts straight ;)

Back to the topic: one thing to consider also is the energy class of the washing machine. Most modern ones have A or A+, which means they are very energy efficient and will use less energy, so will cost less in the long term.

Miele is as mentioned very nice, they have a great customer service and are very reliable, but that comes with a price...

Here in Finland, I have done everything I can to blend-in with the Finns, I've changed my hair color, wore differnet clothes, got different

Thanx folx for the great advice that I got..But finally we chose LG WD14378FD - Costing €1499 list price ...but not for me...
But with a great deal of negotiation..
This Latest State-of-the-art technology ( Direct drive and Steam washer which has never been introduced by any company than LG) wanted us to get this..but not at that price..
Gigannti had a sale price of €1395 and was negotible but was bl**dy ignoratnt in serving a customer..
We were also looking for a TV/LCD Monitor at the same time.. and I was dreaming of a USB 500GB for sometime now..
But we already had an offer from http://www.veikonkone.fi/ From Espoo/Martinsilantie 10, which seemed to have a sale of €999..but then the sales guy Jani ( last name forgotten and will be posted here)..gave us an offer of 1350 for the pesukone and a samsung 225MW PIP 2" TV/LCD/Monitor which the Gigganti guys seem to ignore and give us all sorts of excuses of why they will match the offer but they dont have any people to give service for us..( They said they were very sorry that no one could help us with the monitor/TV section after I complained and left after waiting for 20-30 minutes)..
Then I bargained a 500GB Maxtor USB drive +Home Delivery + return of the old broken Washer back ( all delivered to my house nad old one taken to disposal/recycle) for a grand price of 1550..
cant beat that ..for it was interest free for upto 40 months ( of course a 4 euro/month fee but that is nothing thee days depending on how fast you wanna pay)..Interest free..( 0% korkko)..
So we got a very highest end washer + a monitor + a 500GB usb drive for a pretty god price..
Thanx for the advice folx.. we will let ya know later how the LG functions ( but with a 2 year store and 7 year motor warranty from LFG) I have nothing to complain..
Thanx.

Just brought a basic top loader from Musta Porssi. 50 Euros off and because i paid with a plussa I got an extended warrenty of 2 years making it 4 in total. I have tried these complex machines before lots of useless programs you will never use. Usually meaning more problems when broken. Dont know if i would have brought a LG washing machine if the build quality is any like there Tvs

Was checking out the washer at lg's site and is listed under ' Poistuneet mallit' so that may explain bargain price - hope it works ok - was going to recommend Zanussi - mine is 15 years old and survived two kids, been rented out with the house in uk for 3 years and being shipped here - runs fine on Finnish diet of only cold liquids despite having hot and cols feeds - only ever use 2 programmes and may be the quick wash button.

I did post the link uder technologies for this washer before
So I guess that you have not checked LG's latest
Model : WD-14376FD
The difference between Model : WD-14376FD and Model : WD-14378FD is that Model : WD-14376FD is Black front and Model : WD-14378FD is rose/pink in the front.
These technologies/washers have been in the market for 1.5 years and this model is a brand new model..

So even if they say that this model is gone, the Black one is the most popular and is selling for 1500 Euros. ( The black model is on Sale of €1395 in Musta porssi and Gigganti and on/off). We were perfectly fine with our Rose color..

I think I should get a simple function Siemens or Bosch. Budget below 500 Euros....
Go for Bosch, since they are the same as Siemens, but Siemens is the top brand so they cost more. Usually it's only minor details on the outside that are different.

I second the Bosch brand as that was our second choice given that we had an open budget and went with the high end one..
The Bosch Maxx Kids is currently on sale for 499.

geniedevil wrote:thanks guys...now I have fixed my eye on Bosch. Next question: which shop besides Veikonkone can I choose? I wanna check around different shops for the best price-probably includes insurance of quality for 5 years after sale. Is Expert good? Musta Pörssi? Markantalo? Tekniset? I would also take a look at Gigantti I think, thou many have complained about their services. I have more time than money since I am a student...
whenever buying appliances, I always do a google search with the name of the product and "+preis" ie, "bosch xx-00" +preis. This will give me results for the price comparison sites in Germany and some indication what's a decent price in Europe. Using that price you can estimate how much the store can drop their prices when you haggle.

The reason we chose veikonkone was that they are giving a 40 month interest free payment option ( after 1100 euros I think so check that amount ) with 4 euros per month monthly fee ( or imo some form of interest)..
Always check those stores and the net before you go and talk to a salesperson so that you already know your numbers ( as said by Mcowboy)..
and dont give up on haggling even if you go back and forth between many stores ( even same store, different location) as well as ask for quotes that you can bargain with from other stores..Finally, if you purchase 2 or more items, you can still get the price level down on the whole purchase price too.

I just checked SIEMENS WP10R151SN pesukone449,00 €, this one is not sold in other areas as googling does not return any results from "preis", "euros", only "euroa" and "kr"...
I didnt say that, but said that if you are planning to buy more things ( not washing machines), then , on top of the bargain that you got for the washing machine, you can bargain more for the Total price too.
BTW; most manufacturers and stores only give 2 years warranty if thats what you mean by insurance ( FOr e.g. Musta porssi is giving 4 yrs warranty on select models, but IMHO, I dont like musta porssi's ways of handling things once purchased and have heard nightmare stories and had 1 bad experience with a small purchase there)..
One other store to check is Stockmann's as they have a no hassle warranty policy for their warranty period..
One thing we found generally was:
Veikonkone in Espoo customer service was excellent and If you want PM me, I will give you the name of the service personal that helped us. He was top class in hadnling things for us smoothly)..
When we went to Gigantti in espoo(suomenoja), they acted as though they dont want us to buy anything from there even though we let our intent to buy a washing machnie, a LCD monitor/TV and a 500+GB USB drive..
but they seemed that the didnt want our business and made us wait for more than 30 minutes and no one was there to help us ( with one monitor's price that was not marked). OTOH; the moment we went to veikonkone, we were served immediately and the 2nd time, the service person was talking to another customer and apologized and told us that it will take some time as well as another customer service person asked us if we needed help.

the reason it didn't give out any results:

- you used the factory's model number
- that WP10R151SN means Nordic, as in for Nordic countries

if you go to Siemens' German site, you'll find the German version of the same appliance and also possibly the shorter model code that is used to show to customers. Or you might take out couple of the last digits off that model number.
