Thanks for all the comments! Turns out we are gonna be moving there afterall. Our offer was accepted for a place there and one hour later someone offered us the price we wanted for our place we have now. So it worked out so smoothly. I don't really care about people visiting, that's their problem if they don't want to come. Most of my friends live in Tampere right now away so if we get visitors, they'll be coming all the way from there.
We don't have kids yet, none planned either, but from what you guys say and the things I have heard I am sure its a good peacefully area. Anyway sounds like grocery/hardware store wise its pretty ok, and for now thats whats important. My wife can worry about how she's getting to Stockman on her own

We re looking for a similar situation like your but we ve lived in that area before..whereabouts re y'all planning to live in Kirkkonummi?

We moved 6 months ago to Masala (Sundsberg), it is very handy for getting into the city or to Espoo either by car, bus, or train.

I guess the place is called Överby and is fairly close to the center. At least it seems like a nice area, really new buildings there and whatnot.

I wish they would move the drunk people out of malmi & itakeskus and so on, preferably outside the border of helsinki cos theres so much more space in vantaa and kerava kidding : / well, i wish. But actually, i hate the drunks everywhere, esp on the tram where they are harrassing people with drunken banter and alcoholic/puke smell.

Joining Espoo and Vantaa to Helsinki would have been an intelligent idea already 20 years ago. Only problem is they then need only one mayor and one council so petty politicians loose seats.
