Well, I'm an American and I think it's fine to be called a "Yankee". After all, we did in fact win the war and if we hadn't saved Texas, they would just be a large part of Mexico. (of course, we wouldn't have a certain president now either) They always warned us that "the South will rise again". Maybe the Finns should start calling all of us "Kapinoitia" or "Pensakaita".

I am guessing that the phrase was meant to be enjoyed by those familiar with the cockney dialect. Neither as a joke or as an insult just part of the pub banter in London.
