Bit of an old post....BUt I would seriously look at finding your bike in Finland and then ordering it from abroad...save a whole load of cash even with shipping costs...

Maybe I've read this wrong but shipping from Evans cycles is:

Does anyone know of a Specialized dealer in Helsinki? Just want a few parts and most of the shops i've looked at like bikeplanet, suomen polkupyörätukku etc don't carry them. I could just add some bog standard shimano parts but ........it just won't feel right. :(

Or a good online source?

I found this useful list of bikeshops in Helsinki to add to this thread if anyone else comes searching.

EDIT: Just found out my local retailer is:
434.86 miles
SPORT 1132 A.S
TRYSIL, NORWAY 2420 NO

Shimano it is then.

I thought Best Brakes in Lauttasaari used to sell Specialized but i just checked their site and they do them anymore.
As for a good shop in Vantaa, i recommend http://www.tikkurilanajomies.fi/ in Tikkurila.
The owner is a really friendly and helpful guy who provides some of the best customer service i have encountered here.
Definitely worth a look if you are after stuff that isn't run of the mill.
Edit: http://www.pyorahuolto.com/ does sell some Specialized bikes though, they are in Lauttasaari and also a good shop.

Dunno if this helps you but I've used Evans in the UK for stuff and a German place, Bike24...seems a lot of people in the UK order from Germany as the prices are lower, or so they say. I didn't think it was that much lower and took ages to come compared to Evans, who were very fast. German prices always seem to be good but crazy P&P, same when I've ordered clothes and records...Maybe I've had bad luck, I dunno.

(looking at evans it's mostly shimano too - but maybe good for future reference).

*Sighs* i miss my local Evans in Wandsworth. I actually only need a left crank arm as the thread has burred, don't need a whole set so i'll just go with the shimano i think, the bike is almost 10 years old anyway so the completeist in me will have to let it slip by the wayside on this one.
If there wasn't a recession on i'd love to go out and spend a grand on a new bike. :(

Yeah - I am going through the same thing. I need a new bike and just can't afford to risk buying one. Work's really bad for me at the moment and I guess I'll be on the dole next year. But then again, If I am not working and my bike totally dies on me it will be harder to replace. Dilemmas, dilemmas.

There's a newish shop in Turku and they were selling these French and German bikes, never heard the name but they looked sweeeet!!! I'll drop by some time and get the names maybe you and Pete know them and can advise me.

Check here if that's all you need, no point going to a Specialized dealer when they most likely won't even be carrying parts that old.
