), but I did work 15 years in the food industry, and sort of feel I know what I'm talking about when I say something is "crap". I'm genuinely concerned about the rubbish most people buy ("because it's cheap and I have a family to feed"

But the thing is, in old days there wasn't "cheap food" and people bought meat less often, because "meat" wasn't cheap. Nowadays there are so many other consumer goods competing for peoples' income, that they "want" to buy meat
AND have all the other "luxuries" they "think" they "should" have. The result is that their "greed" for electronics, holidays and other "previously luxury" items means that they now enjoy these things, at the expense of feeding their "nearest and dearest" cheap crap.
People expect cheap food, put it at the bottom of their priority list, and feed their families poor quality crap.
Political correctness is the belief that it's possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.
