Re: Online stores to buy home appliances
Forget buying any appliances from outside the EU, the local prices can be lower but considering shipping, the VAT and toll and handling any warranty issues (usually it is you who will have to pay for the shipping of the product to the seller), it just isn't worth it. In general, you definitely want to shop around, first deciding what (make and model) you want and then performing a search. The pricing for any individual item often varies enough so that it's not possible to find a place where everything would be affordable or cheapest. There are some online stores, e.g. http://www.e-kodinkoneet.fi , http://www.direct123.fi/ and http://www.konelux.fi operating out of Estonia that would be worthwhile to check out, still you will have to do the digging around for the particular items that you are after, it might even be possible to find some of them for sale in Finland.

this thread is bought to life 7 years after the original post. it would be interesting to hear what the OP did.
I've bought some things mail order from germany and also the UK. steam cleaner, window vacuum, blu ray hard disk recorder. From Germany I personally bought back one microwave oven by plane and another in the boot of a car (the car itself also bought from germany).
Markantalo is long gone, bought by the owners of gigantti and turned into an online only retailer. Swedish chain On-Off went bankrupt years ago and Veikkonkone faced a similar fate.
