the cheapest u can get a place to stay is 200 euros, I dont even know thats possible though, but school can help you with that,
but please keep in mind that without extra cash with u this place will turn into nightmare.
I am a foreigner in Finland as well. Aprox for living per one month u need 500 euros. i guess if u need to save and spend little u should go and shop only in german store called lidl and without any nightlife, coz spending weekends out will cost at least 25 euros, it includes taxi.
well about getting a job, u might at the ships (cleaning), my friend from Russia worked there for 3 months when she was here only for 4 months and with student visa, but i guess it was just her luck, they didnt check her visa and only requested to have some paper so she will pay taxes.
but dont get ur hopes up,
I have been here for year and a half, but only worked 3 months at a company, I was living in northern Finland, and company was in need of workers. but since i moved to Turku its hard to get a job, competition is pretty high in here,
if u want to get a job with ur skills only 3 months is not enough, ,,
well good luck, but think about expences before u get here,

Re: Job at the time of Internship
what kind of work are you doing in Turku? Are you going to work in the university or at his own company?
i got an internship once with some company of some (former) professor in university of helsinki. it was HELL. It was very opportunistic because he took (and I think still taking) advantage of students especially those from outside finland to come to work for him via internship. No pay, no holiday (said they're not entitled to any public holidays in Finland bec. the company is private), no peace of mind.
i just got through all the sh*t because I had a schedule to follow and quitting was not an option.
I SURVIVED! But reading your thread, I really become suspicious of the professor
.
Good luck!
