Of course you can say it's stupid, that doesn't make you right though...
How about you just refrain from posting in threads when you have nothing worthwhile to contribute?
On certain topics (like this one), we know what you would write anyway. -cough-predictable-cough-

I had more ink put into my armband recently, it took about 3 hours so that might give you an idea of how big it is! :D

My chest piece is 2 sittings... :ohno:

Never done that always been 1 sitting with 3 - 5 hours work.

Where did you go? Did you go to Vida Loca? Rosti's work has really improved.

With a sitting that long, do they charge a piece rate or hourly?

Hourly.....Usually 100 an hour. It's way expensive these days. Tattoos are getting more trendy and kinda keeps the riff-raff out...instead they go to 'scratchers' and give tattoos a worse name than they already have.

but they kinda give you a quote and go from there. Like if they say '3 hours' and 300 and it takes 3 and 20 mins they let it slide. If it takes 4 then you could pay the extra. A lot of it is who you know and if you're a regular etc etc. Like me and the GF dont pay deposits or anything like that. They know we're reliable I guess.

My leg took 4-5...terrible. The back of the leg is not a nice place to do...so quite painful. :ohno: It's really not a fun process.

(You have to remember that a lot of guys these days won't do copies of other tattoos. They will do old classics/flash, realism, portraits and that's kind of a copy but if they are doing a regular tattoo they want to design it themselves and you are also paying for that. you can take along pics from mags etc but they usually will redraw it).

I have a couple of pieces. The larger one on my calf only took about an hour. I brought the artwork in they just copied, as it was my work. I have another piece that I want to get done that I have been working on for a year (well my brother the artist has been working on it). This one will probably take 4+ hours. I was just curious what the prices here are. Both my pieces where done in the states.

Ok, sorry...I didn't know you were one of us criminlas /disgraces to society already.

What's the design? I'd love to know!!!!

But yeps...I (and GF) have always paid about 100, seems like the going rate. I think it's the same in Sweden. There's a lot of good guys there and Holland and Denmark too.

I heard the states was crazy expensive. Whats your prices like there?

The next one will be on my arm/shoulder. An East meets West Dragon for my daughters. A symbol of them will be held in the talons (the symbol keeps changing). The whole dragon=protection bit. Lots of detail and muted colors.

Getting work done in the states is kind of like here. The better the artist the more $$. The catalog hacks are cheap if you want iffy work. And as usual, it's all in who you know. I think the prices are comparable from the states to here.

Ok, sounds cool. One of the links I posted earlier has a lot of Asian stuff, I dunno if thats good for ya. Are you getting it done here or in the USA-USA-USA?

Yeah, my mate was in Vegas and wanted a row of stars on his arm or something. 3 stars, getting smaller, just a thick outline. Cant remember what he was quoted but it was crazy stuff.

There's a lot of crap here too...A LOT of crap...kinda like the UK, the good are very good* but the theres endless amounts of crap. Both countries have a big 'scum-bag' culture I guess who dont mind paying for crap just to look tough or something.

(*mind you all the good people on that stupid London Ink are dirty foreigners).

It's for my husband, based on the pictures he looked at I guess it is an asian one (chinese, Japanese), in color.
If you had some tips also on where to get a tattoo recolored, I'd be grateful. mine is getting pale (got it almost 10 years ago in Praha) :)

Right -well one of the guys I linked earlier does a lot of Japanese / asian stuff.

http://www.tatuata.com/index2.html

Take a look at Jarno's gallery.

But I would say any of those links would do a good job...Best thing is to look at the links and see which you think is good. They're all big names here. They all do touch up work and that kind of stuff...

Cool. But it's good to look at the other guys and see how they do dragons - asian stuff...

Krisse at Legacy does Japanese stuff too.

Lasse in Turku is a fine ink slinger and has done a cool black n grey japanese sleeve here (you'll have to find it). I blieve my GF's friend has Japanese work done by him. Ok, it's Turku but I always think it's worth travelling if you really like the guys work, it's there for life.
