Where to buy 12 cubic metres of topsoil

Where to buy? Where can I find? How do I? Getting started.

We had an offer...tax free from a local geezer doing other local work for 300 euro for the lot. Sounds so good, but I'ld hedge that he'd do a crap job, not put down 12m3 and wouldn't come back to sort it when it all compacts to a roller coaster in a few winters from now..
I think the quality of the topsoil is also quite important, if it has too many weeds etc in it then you have to start killing the weeds either with chemicals or large plastic sheets.

By the way I remembered we had half a truck of topsoil delivered for our garden, which turned out to be way too much and we told our neighbours to please take what they needed from our pile. We ordered it from a company in the yellow pages, but it was not cheap.

Our Chrysler Voyager has a 1600kg towing capacity (our trailer has brakes) and it is a small engined version and our Jaguar has 1570kg towing capacity so I am a little surprised by the capacity of your car. My trailer weighs in at just over 400kg (and can carry a 1.2 tonnes)

With sufficient thrust, pigs fly just fine.

I had approx 14 m3 delivered to Masala for 380€ - cash deal  - from local farmer who makes it himself :? . It is still sitting in my garden waiting for me to use it - so if you want to come and inspect the quality give me a pm - and I can also get the phone number from my neighbour who arranged the deal!. Only problem may be that he can only make the stuff when its dry so you may be in for a long wait !

..thanks for the round of replies one and all, I have to sit on this one for a few weeks until our housing estate wraps up a whole bunch of landscaping improvements that I never saw coming. Once I know how much of the soil they don't need, and how much they need reimbursing, I'm back onto the yard leveling job.

v.v important point too...if we're using it for pure grass, not planting beds, then we may even be able to lay a bed of kivi tukka beneath say 10cm of soil - or even in fact, dig up our yard, lay the kivi tukka (sp) and relay the grass. They may also help with draining of the soil and avoid the problem the whole yard being laid flat with new soil only to find in two years it's a roller coaster. I'ld never thought of that, and kivi tukka is much easier to get hold of.

taa for the links Raamv. Sorry about the India-SA game, it was an unlucky bump ball and then all down hill from there!
