skullmonkey wrote:Out of curiosity I once checked out one of the advertisement delivery jobs. Pay was 0,03€ (That's three cents for those who have difficulties with numbers ;) per ad delivered. So to earn 30,00€ you would need to deliver 1.000 ads, which could be up to 4h or more hours a day. Additionally, lots of people have the "No commercials please" stickers on their postboxes (in my building approximately 80% have these) so you might have buildings where you drop five ads. Its not an easy job, but if you need the cash its an opportunity.
I was getting 0.0185€/door for the paper plus 0.00501€/door for each additional advertisement. So with my 235 doors and the paper plus for example 5 ads I would get 0.0436/door, or 10.25€. The work included the sorting which could take up to an hour and then the actual delivering which could take 1.5-2hrs depending on how quick you could go.

But as others mentioned, working for the Posti gives you more money but you need to deliver them early in the morning which might not be so beneficial to your studies, as was proved with a girl in my class.

If I remember right I expressed interest through the delivering company's website and a few weeks later they SMS'd me asking if I was still interested and whether I could come in and see them. I pretty much had the job as soon as I said I was interested. I got the feeling the staff turnover in that company was, and probably still is, quite high so that's why they gave it to me right away. I also had originally taken two routes, 455 doors, but with 9hrs of class on one day it was too much so I gave away one of the routes.

You can earn some extra income in autumn. Seems many dont know about "every mans right" what allows you to walk in forests freely and pick wild berries/mushrooms freely. Also wild berries can be sold tax free (no questions asked or papers filled but cash in hand. legally). Its not good way to make money in south where berry areas are more sparse but you get some exercise and money if you find berries :)

While I leave it open for discussion if it is hard work, I think that kind of behavior is a) cheating and b) annoying for the persons getting the ads.
Yes, it is both a) and b). I don't argue on that.
