Ask yourself would you hire yourself? What is your special talent that would make you above all other applicants?

check out my previous post a day ago on another thread:magenta22 wrote:Moi
I have a similar question. It has been mentioned about moving to Finland and obviously I would need work there.
I've tried contacting a few places in Finland to ask about opportunties for people who are not fluent in Finnish but are learning the language but none of them have replied to me.
I am admin, secretarial.
Would anyone have any advice?
If you can handle the disappointment of losing your status,
And maintain a positive attitude and hold no grudges.
If you can have your job applications rejected 100 times
And still gladly send the next with a smilie in the application letter.
If you can hear the words and not understand the fook what they mean
But still try to communicate as best you can.
If you can jump from the heat of a sauna and do a great snow angel.
Then, my Portuguese friend, you can move to Finland.
just swap Portuguese with your own nationality...
With sufficient thrust, pigs fly just fine.

I haven't actually applied for anything just emailed them to ask if them what options would be available to me if/when I move to Finland.
I can understand the basics of Finnish but there is still a lot to learn so I know that options will be limited unless they actually wanted english speakers for something (yes I have also tried contacting Nokia)

You will get the same lack of responses when you do apply. It is very annoying, but it is the norm around here to not reply at all unless you plan to hire the person. It is good to know this so you don´t take it too personally.I haven't actually applied for anything just emailed them to ask if them what options would be available to me if/when I move to Finland.

and it is getting worse, as there are more and more people unemployed and looking for work (Finns and foreigners)... so more applications and open applications per job, meaning less responses due to the time it takes to handle this
With sufficient thrust, pigs fly just fine.

And it's also worth mentioning that special "Social-Security-Law" that obliges a Finnish Employer to scan for applicants in the strict order:Mölkky-Fan wrote:there are more and more people unemployed and looking for work (Finns and foreigners)
1) First, offer the job to those who have just been fired/laid off (I will let you imagine how many of them will refuse to get their job back).
2) Second, those who are registered at the Employment Office as Job-Seeker (I will let you imagine how many of them will refuse this offer after having been unemployed).
3) Third, all the other applicants (it is rumored that these are much more than Finnish applicants).
Is it enough? No, there is more: if the Finnish employer chooses someone who is not registered at the Employment Office, then the employer must write down one justification/motivation/disclaimer with the reasons why he has chosen someone who is not covered by the Social-Security-Whatever.
Good luck to you all, "foreign applicants", and keep your smile on your face, if you get an interview!
Re: Seeking Work in Finland *ENG*
Ok, I have an update :>
with a new question!
I have recieved a job offer in Finland. I have not yet received my EU British Passport however I currently have my australian passport.
My partner would like me to come to finland in 2 weeks, however using my australian passport i only have a 3 month stay. If i send my passport to finland, would i be able to stay longer if I notify the police of my new passport? or could I just go to sweden for a day and come back on my british passport and start working?
How can I go about this?
I have no way of fast tracking my british passport :<
any help is greatly appreciated

Also, in some cases, they have to go to the interview and try their best to get the job or they'll get a 3 month quarantine for "refusing".JohnGabriel wrote: 2) Second, those who are registered at the Employment Office as Job-Seeker (I will let you imagine how many of them will refuse this offer after having been unemployed).
