If you can't understand all of it then you can't get citizenship. Simple as that. Rather than being stupid and sitting around here waiting for an answer that you want to hear. You aren't going to get one.. Just wisen up.

Lemme admit I was just looking around and didn't get into details. The above quote is from the citizenship proposal from rip's link. Upon further examining, rip has worked hard in finding out the relevent citizenship law from http://www.finlex.fi/fi/laki/ajantasa/2004/20030359 esp. 5) hän pystyy luotettavasti selvittämään, miten saa toimeentulonsa.

If I were in your situation, based on the info I have got, I would apply if I want a citizenship.

Thanks a lot guys! I'm gonna apply soon.

As it's written "ehdotuksen mukaan". Is this law already applied?

That was the government proposal for the Citizenship act approved in 2003. Unless some specific part of the legislation is changed during the later parliamentary process, and in this particular case I see nothing like that in the legislative material, these justification and explanatory texts are used by courts to interpret the actual text of the law.

I think you should be able to work through the quoted part at least. You passed the language test after all :)
So do you think I can apply for citizenship with my current situation.
If you have no problem with the other conditions (if you have 5+ years with A permit), then I'd say "yes" (As I think I already said in my first post on this topic on that other thread (though I did not have the link that time))

Ah but some had a phone call or letter asking for an update of the work status and whether or not the person was in the same job while the application was being processed and if the decision maker was happy with the answer, the nice white folder was in the mailbox one week after.

Yes, they want still to know where you get your money (as also said in the legal text I quoted) It is just that also KELA and sossu are acceptable answers.

I asked this question before in this thread but didn't get the answer:-

Does unemployment benefit from IAET-kassa considered as social benefit or not? Could you tell me.

Regarding citizenship application the question is pointless. We had an earlier thread (which I am now unable to locate) where somebody confirmed from direct experience that unemployment benefit was income that could be used to fulfil the income requirement for applying a residence permit for a family member (while "toimeentulotuki" isn't such income)

:? You're back.
Citizenship is granted based on a B level proficiency in Finnish. Legal jargon is often way above that. My language skills are good but even I have difficulties reading through legal mumbo jumbo.
Back? I've been back for almost 3 weeks.. and if you mean 'back' in the forums I never left... in fact, you disappeared for awhile and I was sorta wondering where you went..

Well I'm asking this question not for citizenship application? I should have clear understandig among kela, soical and IAET-kassa benifits. I'm thinking to start another thead to get information for this topic. Diffference among Kela support, social support and IAET-kassa unemplyment support

Still askign here as it could knock some wise people.

I think you should define "In respect to what?"

I might consider it as one, in some statistics it may be considered social benefit, and in some other perhaps not. What is the question you are actually interested?
