Where to buy a good hard bed? [300-500€ range]

The bed twenty years ago? Sorry I don't remember the brand or model. Price was a few hundred.

Like many things, spending a little more than "cheap" buys you a lot more quality. But the more you spend, the incremental increase in quality for each price bracket drops off. e.g. the difference in quality between a 400€ and 800€ bed is quite large. But the difference in quality between a 4000€ and 8000€ bed isn't as great.

Also, the quality of sleep that you get affects every other aspect of your life. If there's one thing worth spending money on, it's a bed.

So, I finally have a bed, from Ikea, 160x200 cm. Bed costed 80 Euro, the two base things (not sure what they are called) 20 Euro each, and a mattress 160x200 for 200 Euro. The mattress is a simple foam mattress, which turned out to be harder than mattresses with springs. For my taste it is still too soft, but in my price range I can't find anything harder, and it will do the trick for now, especially after sleeping on the couch for 10 nights.

So, in total spent 320 Euro. If you want it delivered Ikea does that for 39 Euro (under 100 kg, my combination would have been in this categorie). If you want exact Ikea models please PM me.

I was about to buy a new bed when a friend announced his departure and offered me he's new-like Ikea bed. Turns out it's too soft for my back... Is it enough if I find a hard and thick mattress to put on top or will I need to look for a new bed? The current pad (about 4 cm) is way too soft.

I think on average the ikea model that is considered the hardest of mattresses works ok for the money.I think buying a soft mattress from the start can be a little tricky .
With an extremely hard mattress you get the opportunity to fine tune it with those mini mattress on offer.With a soft mattress to begin with you left fine tuning back at the store.

Yeah, I'll get a smaller and harder mattress and have it in the floor, at least for the next months, before I move. Thanks for your comment.
Will probably check Ikea this or next week. Does anyone know which are their hardest mattresses models?

An Ikea bed with the slatted base with adjustable parts and then very important: a thick Latex mattress and turn it regularly (at least once a month) also from Ikea.

Latex mattresses are not commonly used in Finland (I guess here box-spring is used generally but I could be wrong ) and I found Ikea the only one selling them, or a Firm in Estonia but more expensive.
