Where to buy? Where can I find? How do I? Getting started.

Italy has recently started to heavily tax high-performance cars, so this is another possible source for cock-mobiles.
I have to ask... any reason why somebody who wants a used BMW or Audi should be instantly labelled a "cock"?
Have you seen the way these things are driven on the road?

but, yes, OK - it's perhaps a little unfair (since they may not yet own a bwm or Audi), we could soften it to potential cock.

Drivers car will be bought by people who like to drive. And likely they like to drive fast, way past the speed limit.
Also it isn't very surprising that German cars are cheaper in Germany. Volvos and Saabs were shipped from Sweden. Toyotas aren't as expensive here/cheap there to make the savings worth the hassle?

Hmmm... so my little japanese shopping car makes me either a decent bloke who doesn't need to compensate for anything or a pensioner? :)

Leaving savings aside the Finnish used car market is tiny in comparison to Germany. There's a lot of stuff that you simply can't get here, either because it was never sold or there are so few around that nobody is selling.

p.s. - last car to try and run me off the road (deliberately, too) was a Volvo...

Let's hear it for car choice - the last bastion of free speech in an age of political correctness gone mad :)

Here's to the cocks/rich wankers/pensioners/midlife crises/footballers/salesmen/hippies/trophy wives/farmers/rednecks and their vehicles!

This is how a Finnish car looks like.

According to unconfirmed news from unnamed sources, the government has decided to give tax deduction on such cars. Any imported and/too flashy cock car which may brighten a chance to defile the purity of womenfolk will be heavily taxed to protect the environment, to fund politicians' lunch and their retirement benefits and to feed naughty Mediterraneans.

Strangely, both my cars are capable of 0-100km/h in under 4 seconds and they would be classed as driver's cars, yet I have only had speeding tickets when driving a 1.6 Primera.

And damn right Zax, cars are to certain people much more than an A to B thing, my mid life crisis allows me to drive fast cars and feel entitled! :D

was thinking of a RAV4 actually. Basic small Toyota with 4WD to get around out the back of places when roads are slippery and mucky. Will be living in Eastern Finland.

Well, between: http://mobile.de and http://ottoauto.de/ you can work out the advantage. Ideally you could buy (and somehow run) a car in Germany before you come. They there's no tax.

thanks :-)

looking around at auctions in Finland I get the feeling that for the age I'm willing to buy (older) and the fact that I am capable to fix things (engines and electrics) and have time on my hands (more or less nothing but) that it might be to my advantage to do that.

interesting ... I guess that I'd also have to 'live' there too. Any idea on how long I'd need to be there for to get that? Like 6 months or something I'm guessing.

I bought the missus a CRV last year. In normal cars you instantly understand the slippiness of the road while starting off. With AWD you have to wait until braking...

Still, it's fun at the traffic lights when you're beside a rwd beemer.

oddly enough, I don't believe you. Is this the acceleration when you drop them from an aeroplane?
