Ah, missed that one.
Filling it out with the help of my Father. Different than when he applied for his declaration. Is it absolutely necessary to have a birth certificate of my grandparents? I have both my grandparents population ID numbers as well as my father's of course who is a Finnish citizen through Declaration. Just wondering how many documents I need to get on top of everything I already have. I feel like the connection part is proved well enough. I have my Grandparent's death certificates though in the U.S. that state where they were born and I have some original Finnish documents of my Grandmother's. I am lacking though original documents of my Grandparent's birth certificates.
Out of the official list of:
Appendices demonstrating Finnish origin (original documents), I don't have any of those regarding my grandparent's.

I guess you could get their virkatodistus, but migri has a contact phone number given the web page that you could use and ask.

Thank You! Speaking of the traveling restrictions of traveling outside Finland with my continuous residence permit
Particularly this part:
"The following periods of absence will not interrupt your continuous period of residence:
absences that last a maximum of one month"
Does that mean I am not restricted to taking 7-10 day trips back to the U.S. over the course of the year? And it does not affect my continuous residential time? and it lasts a total of less than 6 months in a year?
Does traveling within the Schengen zone act differently at all either with the continuous residential time?

I don't work for migri, but that is my reading of the text too. The listed trip durations are given quite explicitly in the law. The interpretation in the your last sentence also seems very reasonable, although I can't quote a paragraph for that.

According to the law they are the same as other trips. In practice, if one were less than truthful about the trips, the chances of them finding out about trips in Schengen area are likely small.

I guess really the most important thing for me to understand is if I can take frequent 7-10 day trips back to the U.S. while keeping my continuous residency without absence and as long as over the course of a year it adds up to less than 6 months. That is how I seem to understand it and then there's limits on trips of longer than 1 month.

More than 6 months would move tax residency and at least cause confusion if migri looks at tax information when deciding on the citizenship application. I think they would start to apply meanings behind sentence like this (even if not explicitly spelled): "Yhtäjaksoinen asumisaika katkeaa lisäksi, jos poissaoloja on niin säännöllisesti ja niin paljon, että hakijan voidaan katsoa oleskelleen tai oleskelevan enimmäkseen Suomen ulkopuolella."
OP: Remember that the citizenship application asks you to list every foreign trip. You better start keeping a log if you plan to travel frequently.

granted I will not be traveling anywhere near 6 months, the most important info to me is the amount of times I can leave the country on short trips. The fact that is not limited to the amount of exits and re-entries for trips shorter than 1 month is what I was trying to understand and clarify.
