But one of my cats also does these things. Now in fairness he's almost 9 years old and an Abyssinian, and they're said to be one of the smartest breeds. Plus he avidly watches nature channels on TV and so probably soaks up a good deal of passive STEM in that way.
But it does make one despair about the trend of outsourcing to hungry and otherwise undemanding labor pools.
