Where did you get your education. I would gladly take a look of those better schools.

There is a great difference between schools and universities.. Pupils and students just for starters...

Wasn't the whole thing about Finland's tertiary education's quality settled long time ago? I thought it's pretty much public knowledge that university-level education in Finland (especially AMK English programs) is sh*t.
Even when you talk about normal universities, you're still not too far off. I mean, outwith U of Helsinki/Tampere and Aalto University, there are really no good places to study in this country.

Of course, everywhere in Finland, you'd get at least okay education and a quite recognized degree, but don't really expect a quality education that you'd get in places like UK, US, Germany, Singapore, etc.
Every case is unique. You can't measure the result of your application based on arbitrary anecdotes online.

This is nice as a joke, and yes it's kinda funny, but I hate it when people say it to actually justify the poor quality of education.
Those who study in University of Helsinki don't pay anything, yet they get a lot better quality. In Germany, you only pay a nominal fee, but you get 10x better education than in Finland's AMKs. Jesus, I even studied 3 years in a polytechnic in Syria (education there is free) and it was almost as good/bad as AMKs here.

People around me always say "well it's free" as an escapist's approach. I don't understand how people do not fight for change and to make their countries better by starting to realize and admit that there's an actual problem that needs to be addressed. If people's mentality is like that, no wonder the politicians they elect are sh*t... and in the end they bitch and whine about them.
I see people of all ages here having this approach towards their country in almost all matters. To me, it's mind-boggling.

It's a misconception that education is free here. It's only free for people who come only to study and never work here. We all pay for it with heavy taxes. So there is no excuse if the quality is poor.

Personally I found environment at university too relaxed and with a lot of people "studying" there who would never make to any university in many countries. Or even they would manage to get in they would be kicked out after the first year.

The quality of education has been 'diluted' as you have the quantity vs quality issue. Its also got to do with this policy of keeping the dying Nowheremäki's active. Hence all these "International Marketing" degrees in some horsesarse where the only pastime is counting trees.
