How to go about getting flu shot?

Where to buy? Where can I find? How do I? Getting started.

I wish we had all gotten the flu shots last month (me before all this medication). My father in law caught some nasty virus and we're all sick as dogs. I'm thinking of living in a plastic bubble might be nice lol!

I love how people think they have a right to tell people what chemicals to inject into their own bodies! :D And some even have the selfish audacity to tell others to do it for their own benefits! (herd blah blah) How dare they? Yes people with healthy immune systems DO NOT need to get the flu shot, and yes it often makes people sick and messes up their bodies, as does any drug, which is why they should only be used in exceptional cases. Overuse of antibiotics has caused devastating affects and yet I still see people taking them for nothing! You should need them a few times in your lifetime, not several times a year you silly people! Ah studpidity makes me so cross! :-D And these armchair doctors who think they know it all because they read Google :P By the way I was in medical school for over 3 years before I moved to Finland so I know what I am talking about -_-

Flu epidemic causes antibiotic use. Less people with antibodies (gained either by shot or sickness), more people will have the influenza.

Flu causes antibiotic use in idiots, since it's a virus, not an infection -_- Anyway hygiene and keeping your immune system healthy with fruit and vegetables are the best ways to avoid flu, that way you don't have to put chemicals into your body. I have had flu maybe once in my life over 10 years ago and I have never been vaccinated. I do however wash my hands every time I come indoors etc.

Antibiotics and vaccinations have nothing in common. In fact, they are nearly conceptual opposites.

The antivax ideological movement has already killed people and will kill a lot more if it proliferates further.

I'm not going to engage directly with antivaxers, but in general the "evidence" adduced by adherents to the movement has tended to be based on medical ignorance, misunderstanding and unwitting or deliberate distortion. Look at who they are and examine whatever they tell you with a skeptical and scientific eye. For the most part they will be black-and-white, all-or-nothing, highly zealous individuals who accept no nuance in their truth. They will use one truth to sell a different untruth and are incapable of recognizing the difference. Ask yourself how often such thinking has held up in the past to advances in verifiable knowledge.
As he persisted, I was obliged to tootle him gently at first and then, seeing no improvement, to trumpet him vigorously with my horn.

Flu causes complications like pneumonia, which is 80% of time bacterial (Finland, adults*), which is treated with antibiotics?

Seems the vaccine is a bit late this year, there is an awful flu on the move. I talked to the doctor and pharmacist, it's a virulent nasty strain. :/ Viral and gave me 38C fever.

Several misconceptions here but those are just details  .

In big lines it all comes down to this: how lucky were the ones that created the flu vaccine, with guessing what the next year strand would look like. Every flu vaccine is made from old generation viruses, because the Flu virus changes every time it comes and the vaccine cannot be produced fast enough to create it at the moment the virus appears.

Keep in mind that the swine flu, as some have mentioned here, was a virus that did not (normally) kill healthy people, it made them just a little longer sick than normal (a few days longer). Deaths because of the swine flu were mostly due to complications with other illnesses or low immune response activity due to a deficiency. Remember that the vaccine that was made to counteract this virus, was made too fast and skipped huge amounts of normally required checks and approvals. Also remember that this vaccine is found to be the cause of a huge (relatively) rise in the amount of narcoleptic patients, mostly kids, in Finland

If there is any vaccine that is remotely useless, it is the Flu vaccine (which is literally a vaccine for the flu of last year Image )
The only thing the flu vaccine helps with is getting the body's immune system on high alert but it will not protect you against a new flu, basic health should be good or you will get it anyway.

I have not taken any flu shot ever in my life and I get / got in contact with sick kids regularly. When I was still smoking, I had every year the flu when it came along, since I stopped smoking, it became less and less and now I skipped the last 10 years all flu viruses. 8)

Please note that I am talking about influenza and not the common cold

Summarized, I think OP needs her hubby to get the shot but after that he should stay away from her for a week or two....just in case... :(
If god would give us the source code, we could change the world
