I got a positive decision today. The application started processing at 8 in the morning & got a decision after 10 min.
I sent my application on 15.12.2023 & visited the Migri service point & got the dairy number on December 21.
I had a student permit B in 2018 and I came originally from Africa. And then got a work permit in 2019. I have been working since then and my 4 years permit was about to expire in Feb 2025.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and decisions in this forum. I recently joined and it benefited me a lot. I wish you all the best and hopefully, u hear good news soon.

Re: Applying for Citizenship 2024
Hello, Any updates from 2022 applicants?
Re: Applying for Citizenship 2024
Jumping in the middle of conversation. My diary number starts with 17xxx. I see here many with the decision with diary number 16xxx . Of course i did got it late Dec 2023, So still have time for both shorter and longer queue to get processed for the application at this time. But how do i know which is the longer queue and which is the shorter queue based on diary number beginning ?burcu1 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 12, 2024 3:07 pmWhat's your diary number or just first two numbers? I am asking because I have similar background like you and trying to figure out if I am in the same queueNo_doo wrote: ↑Thu Sep 12, 2024 2:49 pmThank you. Yes, the maximum time keeps going up since I applied, it was 14 months back then.Boston_MA wrote: ↑Thu Sep 12, 2024 2:09 pm
I’m really sorry you’ve been in this uncertainty quagmire for such an enormously long time. And they approved your application for permanent residency and are now telling you, a permanent resident, that they expect your application for citizenship will take 7 months more than their current longest estimated processing time of 23 months. Moreover, that longest estimated processing time had to have gone up at least 7 months since you actually applied, because I know that in February 2023 the estimated processing time according to MIGRI’s Processing Time Checker was 7-16 months.
Hang in there!!!
I dunno why they placed it in the longest queue. And the funny thing that I got my permanent residence permit in 1 day. So I went for the verification at Migri, then the following day they granted it. So it is very random.
Best of luck for you too

You can call migri to ask directly about waiting time for your application, based on the answer you should know if you're in long or short queuecuriousan wrote: ↑Tue Sep 24, 2024 11:11 amJumping in the middle of conversation. Yes, but no matter how you contact Migri, the reply is always the same: we can't do anything except wait. This is what I’ve understood after contacting Migri multiple times. Sad..But..True!
Re: Applying for Citizenship 2024
What is your first two digit of diary number ? If could let me know ? Thanks
Re: Applying for Citizenship 2024
Got diary number in February 2022. Started processing in the end of June and I'm still waiting. I recently had a call and surprisingly customer service person gave more insights. I was told that they are waiting information from another authority. Unfortunately, they didn't have any time estimation. They also didn't share from which authority. Before you ask, I don't have any crime, fine etc.
One side of me is leaning on just wait and even forget about that I applied for citizenship and the other side is more about contacting lawyer. Indeed, seeing many people having citizenship in shorter time is alarming. I wish that they had more transparency. Honestly speaking, even the idea of contacting lawyer makes me feel sad. I have never imagined myself having a need of a lawyer for my rights in this country.
