Hi everyone,

I wanted to share my key dates in case it’s helpful to anyone:

Diary number created: 06/02/2024
Processing started: 04/11/2024
Decision made: 12/11/2024
I visited the location in person, and they didn’t ask for any additional updates.

Could you please guide me on what to do next? Should I inform the bank, KELA, or any other relevant organization that I'm now a Finnish citizen? Is the only thing left to book an appointment with the police for my passport?

No need to inform anyone. Your citizenship will have been updated in the Population Information System (you can check at Suomi.fi) shortly after the decision was made. So, schedule your passport appointment. By the way, I chose the regular service option and had my passport two days later. I also recommend getting your new (i.e., valid for travel) Finnish identity card at the same time (you save a few euros by applying for both documents at the same time). That way, both documents will always be up for renewal at the same time in the future (convenient and cheaper (Poliisi and photographer)).

5. I’ve sent additional information twice regarding travels outside Finland

I studied Masters for 2 years here in Finland then completed the 9-month integration course including the 3 week practical language training and later passed the YKI test but haven’t had a job yet.

Any idea how long this could take? Anyone here with a similar case?

No one can say expect Migri. Of course you could try your luck and call, some have were provided with an estimation e.g, 10 months etc. So you understand a bit if your case is easy or not. But note that this can change through the handling

May i ask what is the first digit of your diary number? you wrote xx2, just tell me the first digit, not the last one. Because i also applied on the same day and also same day diary number created. My first digit is 7

I asked them by email yesterday what was their estimation for my case and they replied today that it would be 9 months. I’ll post here when i get the decision. It is very hard to understand their logic…

I applied in the end of March and got my diary number on the 2nd of April so a little bit more than 7 months ago. I wrote in english and they replied in english.

That was a typo and I did edit the message but for some reason the correction is yet to be added. My diary number is 3 digits and starts with 6 so 6xx. I still don’t know how is the diary number relevant to how long the process may take.
