I'm also interested in the queuing system! Application won't get processed until you visit the service point to prove identity. But does the queuing start then or it starts when you submitted the application on enterfinland?
Re: Citizenship Application 2021
When I referred to the queue I mean the your number in line with other application waiting to be processed. That's different than the visiting service pointakuno_hime_1412 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 13, 2021 11:39 amI'm also interested in the queuing system! And well. Processing does not start at all before you actually take an appointment and visit service point.

Re: Citizenship Application 2021
What I meant was that hypothetically, if you and another person prove identity at the same day, but one submitted the application yesterday and the other submitted the application a month ago, where would you two be in the queue? Would it be the same or would there be hundreds or even thousands application apart?
Migri says that the processing time is counted from the date you visited the service point, but what if there are differences in how one is placed in the queue like the above example, then would it be beneficial if one submit the application as soon as possible and we can count the processing time from the date the application enter the system rather than the date you come to prove your identity.
Anyway I'm just curious, since I've already submitted and visited migri already, so nothing more can be done.
Application submitted 15.2.21
Visit at Migri: 10.3.21
Queue number as of 11.3: 4657 ( seems to be not the last (?)
Country not on the list nor did I came without a Residence permit or passport.
Also now time checker in migri only give estimation which is 5-19 months and not the number of applications in queue.
I've also read somewhere in their report that the goal for processing time of citizenship application for 2020 was 365 days and the average what they achieved is some where 200-250 days
so yeah not expecting a fast process anymore.
I only hope I got the decision before my current RP expires.

Oh sorry for my misunderstanding, I would assume it's only when you visit the service point that you can check queue number (as if the queue makes sense hahaha).
Yes the time checker stopped giving number of applications suddenly. It didn't make any sense anyway because the number wouldn't change automatically. They manually changed it every now and then.
I really have high hopes that migri is at least trying to do their best.. the change from 5-7 to 5-19 is ridiculous. Perhaps it was necessary for some reason just for the old applications that are still waiting from 2019? Idk if you know what I mean but since there are people waiting from back then, the estimation should somehow include their applications even if the new applications would still take 5-7 months
Best of luck for you!!! Hopefully we all hear good news soon. Let's keep us updated with queue number maybe a day will come and we understand how it works

Hi guys. I have a question I am very worried about. Is it a problem if during studies on B permit I worked (summer compulsory internship in ammattikorkeakoulu) for 2 months in other EU country while still being registered and paying rent in Finland?

My understanding is that if you were only 2 months outside of the country, your residence is not interrupted.Uskomatonta wrote: ↑Tue Mar 16, 2021 1:48 pmHi guys. Re: Citizenship Application 2021
Hello All,
I have a question regarding the delay of the citizenship application and continuous residence permit expiry.
1- according to migri new processing time for permanent residence is 8 to 10 months which is a long time to wait again. I don't have a job now since my contract with job expires in September and I am searching jobs again., Is it possible to apply PR without a job or salary. Since my labour insurance is paying me every month with a deduction of 12 percent tax?
2- which visa category will suits me the best either extended permit , or enterperunul visa and the processing time is also very much long , migri said to me that if you don't have visa we will not process your application. the date I applied my citizenship was 25.02.2020 it means after 18 months of waiting migri will not process my application. What should I do in this regard, kindly put your valuable suggestions. We should make a group and discuss our cases with migri. Since we came here on study visas and got the RP in advance and everything is smooth and fine in our case.
We should ask them what is missing in our case, what kind of documents actually they need.
Because it's beyond the imagination that my PR decision will come in 2022 and my citizenship decision will be hold since I don't have a valid RP and I am waiting for 13 months now.
Please suggest me some good suggestion ....

Shouldn't be an issue at all. Make sure you clarify where you've been that time.Uskomatonta wrote: ↑Tue Mar 16, 2021 1:48 pmHi guys. I have a question I am very worried about. In my case, when I was on B-visa:
1) 2 internships abroad (2-3 months)
2) a year outside Finland (exchange) - didn't count towards my residence time. I didn't make a notification of move, so I had to explain separately where I lived.
3) Six months abroad.
As someone posted before, here's a link: https://migri.fi/en/how-to-calculate-th ... -residence
The following periods of absence from Finland will not interrupt your continuous period of residence, and their time will be calculated as continuous residence time:
absences of a maximum of one month
a maximum of six periods of absence that last 1–2 months each
a maximum of two periods of absence that last 2–6 months each
The following period of absence from Finland will not interrupt your continuous period of residence but it will not be calculated as continuous residence time:
a period of absence that lasts longer than six months but one year at maximum

Hi sorry to hear your situation. I back your suggestion to send Migri + Foreign ministry + any concerned department a query as a group. This is completely insane amount of time. What they are looking for from us? What is our fault? We need more friends from here to hold the same position and then let's approach them.Dani456 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 17, 2021 2:24 amHello All,

Yes indeed atleast we should, since atleast i.myself don't understand the logics, and there is no logic for anything here, we should contact higher authorities in order to overcome that situation. Let's do it together at least they will come to know that what's happening and how confused we are. It's just an unnecessary stress that we are bearing with us

Re: Citizenship Application 2021
Migri is crying everyday about being understaffed, Covid etc etc. But they increase “waiting time” to 19 months while it was 10-12 when COVID was on peak time. Also now they invite everyone who have a degree from Finland to apply for residence permit. So you are understaffed, there is Covid and many applications congested but you invite more people to apply RP?
If the system was fair and if they actually had a “system” everybody would know their queue number and don’t get stressed about their application status. Some Migri supporters may cry in here but face the reality. I just heard from a friend that his application was on hold 7.5 months due to the person who is processing his application left to paternal leave.
Nothing else to say.
