Congratulations to you and your familyDragun38 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 19, 2024 3:59 pmHello
I would like to share the information about my wife's citizenship application.
She applied and visited Migri on 2nd and 3rd May 2024.
Application was done less than 3 months before completion of the 4 years residency.
Two days ago she received Finnish citizenship.
She has been working since August 2023.
I received my citizenship with my son in November 2022.
When I checked her decision letter it was written that decision was made automatically. In my decision letter the name decision maker was provided.

Re: Applying for Citizenship 2024
First I've heard that there is/was a specific form for that. I always reported my travel "freeform" by uploading a PDF via additional documents.Artemiy wrote: ↑Thu Dec 19, 2024 9:15 pmWas the "Report your trips abroad" function available before and I simply missed it, or did I just luck out on getting the request and sending the travel update in a freeform manner a few days before it appeared? In any case clicking on "go to form" is giving me an error so I can't use it. Just curious, hope that sending in freeform text via "additional documents" is ok.

Seems to be a new feature in EnterFinland. Doesn't work for me yet though, gives an error if I click the button. Anecdotically, I've just reported my trips in free form a few days before this feature became available.Auringon_kukka wrote: ↑Fri Dec 20, 2024 12:13 amFirst I've heard that there is/was a specific form for that. Assessing Eligibility for Permanent Residency in Finland
I am feeling a bit frustrated, so I am seeking your advice. Migri hasn’t been giving clear answers.
I am from a non-EU country and currently a dependent of my husband(non-Finnish), who works in IT. I also work part-time. I applied for Finnish citizenship in November 2023 and am still waiting for a decision. Migri estimates that it will take around 25 months to process my application. My current residence permit is valid until the end of 2025.
We need to settle down here as a family and make decisions based on our situation. Therefore, I am considering applying for permanent residency (PR). However, my husband cannot apply for PR until 2026 due to a speed violation. My monthly income is approximately €1,100. I need to know if this amount is sufficient to meet the income requirements for a PR application.
Could you clarify if my income would qualify me for PR?

Re: Assessing Eligibility for Permanent Residency in Finland
If you still meet requirements for your current permit, then I don't see how your income is relevant in this case. At least according to https://migri.fi/en/permanent-residence-permit there are no requirements for the income. I assume that the basis for your permit is family ties, i.e. your husband is your sponsor, so it's not about only your income. You can always just call Migri and ask them to confirm:
You can apply for a permanent residence permit if:
- you have lived in Finland for an uninterrupted period of 4 years with a continuous residence permit (an A permit); and
- the requirements for issuing your current continuous residence permit are still met.
You may get a permanent residence permit on the grounds of family or work, for example.

Re: Assessing Eligibility for Permanent Residency in Finland
Another option would be to extend your current permit before it expires. Applications for extended permits tend to be processed more quickly than applications for permanent residency. In my case, I applied for citizenship in August 2022, and I received a positive decision in August 2024. My residence permit (A) would have expired in the fall of 2023, so I applied to renew it that summer. I received a positive decision on the extension in less than 24 hours.chasu wrote: ↑Sun Dec 29, 2024 12:33 pmI am feeling a bit frustrated, so I am seeking your advice. Re: Applying for Citizenship 2024
Hey everyone, i applied my citizenship in 03.03.2024, i did not had to visit migri since i applied through banking verification, and finally my application moved to stage 2 on 30.12.2024. a few moments later i was asked to submit additional infor about how i fiinanced my trip and they also asked about my livlihood.
i relpied by writing a whole statement explaining every thing and also sent the proofs on 02.01.2025
My diary number starts from 2***
can anyone tell me how long does it usually take on stage 2
i have not followed the process at all since i applied i never checked my enter finland portal because even thinking about it gave me major anxiety because i have anxiety issues, even i never opened the email which came to me every 4 weeks that states "my application is still waiting to be processed" so i thought its better not to even look at it or think about it.
but now when it went to stage 2 its giving me anxiety that how long is it supposed to take until i receive a decision
i have a finnish wife and i am a non eu citizen currently

I don’t think anyone could tell you for sure how long it would take for them to give you a decision. For the time being look at the bright side since your application actually moved to stage 2 which is technically much more hopeful than stage one. Besides you’ll get a positive decision sooner or later as long as you meet all the essential requirements so no need to worryDrink7up wrote: ↑Fri Jan 03, 2025 4:30 amHey everyone, i applied my citizenship in 03.03.2024, i did not had to visit migri since i applied through banking verification, and finally my application moved to stage 2 on 30.12.2024. a few moments later i was asked to submit additional infor about how i fiinanced my trip and they also asked about my livlihood.

Re: Applying for Citizenship 2024
yes you are right but personally speaking the best way to handle this long waiting time is to forget about it, i never logged in my profile for the whole 9 month period but now when its in the 2nd stage, its just stressing me because now i would have to think about it and keep checking for updatesRezheenA wrote: ↑Fri Jan 03, 2025 10:15 amI don’t think anyone could tell you for sure how long it would take for them to give you a decision.
