Congratulations mate...2 years 2 months is not easy. The anxiety and paranoid we are going through only God knows. I am not a person who dreams, but I have been having dreams and nightmares over this application.

Congrats! What was your queue number? Did you apply in 2020?

Hello, is it okay to apply like 8 or 9 months before I complete the 4 type-A residence years? I have been in Finland for 4.5 years now but about 2.5 where type-B. If someone has tried that, did they end up waiting too long because maybe they were placed in another queue?

It is too early, I think they will not even accept your application at migri service point.

You can apply only when you have 3 months left and they would not accept when you apply 8 months before. You would not get permanent permit earlier even if you have a day left to complete your 4 years residence time. What is the point of applying early for you?

Are you sure it's 3 months? I remember a friend told me he applied when he had 6 months left if I remember correctly. For me I passed the language exam recently and want to apply and get it out of the way and maybe save some time as the application takes at least like 7 months or so.

Sorry I did not clarify if it is citizenship you can and it won't come one day before you complete the 4 or 5 years residence period time. If you apply for a residence permit you have to apply 3 months before it expires

At the end of the day you gotta consider the best case scenario as opposed to the worst case and decide based on that. Worst case, they reject your application at the office( I don’t know if they refund your money or not). Now what we have come to know these past couple of months is that the processing of the citizenship application is very random or some may call it “luck based”. Who knows, if you get your application there the person in charge might just let you through and you could even get it processed before some people who have been waiting for months or even years. I guess these are your options.

They wouldn’t make any refunds, so best bet is to apply not earlier than 3 months before afaik
Is enterFinland down again for everyone?

Okay, thank you for the info! And applying early won't have any negative effect on my application, right?

I am using this as an argument that it's fine to maybe apply early as Migri says it takes 7-25 months.
