Hei!

Thank you very much for the wisdom of your comment, but we don't go down the hill. We are just beginners, haven't reach the hill yet.

FF and GV collaborate with each other. We are here to help integrastion matters, not to compete.

If you pay attention to our page, our forum is only one part of what we do, and not even everything is yet posted in the page. Here's in brief the list of activities in less than one year of Life in Global Village:

04.03
Cuisines de Tampere

An event with the aim producing meetings of people to know new people around the food table going from house to house of the participants. 50 people took part on the event which ended in a great party.

21.03
“Rasismi Ruma, Rock Kaunis”
Part of the “Week Against Racism”, 4 Rock bands from Finland played for free at the bar Telakka, in the meantime a foreign and a Finnish person hosted the event and played the “Multicultural Pub Quiz” both in Finnish and English.

20.05
TURKUVISION

We had the idea of crowding people from different countries having fun together in a healthy competition of nations; we watched together the Eurovision event! Public had 60 people of 9 different nationalities.

June 4th
English Speakers “Activate your integration process” Workshop

Angie Pohja: “A little workshop to share the tricks with other foreigners who are planning to be in Finland for some time because I think it's just plain silly for anyone to waste their time - stuck - like I did. It has been a non-stop learning experience working with other immigrants and to tell the truth, what I've learned about the most - as I have heard each story - is myself, my attitudes and what motivates me. The goal of this workshop is to help others do the same.”

June 9th 16th and 21st
Africa trip in Tampuri

Kemfon came to talk with Finnish children at Tampuri, and explained to them about his home country Nigeria. Talking, performance thru games, tales, and a children’s movie. 3 groups of 12 children each, 7 to 12 y. o.

June 20th
Refugee day

The “Hope-march” symbolized the night walk trip of children and youngsters from the refugee-camp to the closest city, to get save from the assault of rebels. In Tampere the march went from the refugee center to Keskustori in two groups; adults and children. GV organized completely the children’s march and the activities for them in Keskustori. And... as we all know, Hank is one of the most famous people in Finland now!
He'll be invited to the Independence Day ball next year - for sure :)

You mislepped infamous there...

As my favorite roman emperor (known for his extreme extravagance, eccentricity, depravity and cruelty, just like me) said "Oderint dum metuant".
Cheers, Hank W.
