I was delighted with the people when I visited Helsinki.
Anyone we stopped to ask where something was, were helpful and polite and didn't get that "Oh-God-Another-Foreigner-To-Stop-Me-From-My-Daily-Business-To-Ask-Where-The-Pizza-Hut-Is" look on their face
When we stopped in a cafe and I was tired and so slumped over the table, the woman behind the counter asked my dad if I was alright, which I thought was nice.
Also, on the tram back to the hotel on a Friday night, a man who [despite being visibly intoxicated] stood up and offered my dad his seat
The level of friendliness was enough to make me feel quite at home and comfortable anyway, not in the slightest intimidated.
