I was told that the "desirable areas" in Kirkkonummi are Langvik and Luoma. I was told that Masala and Sundsberg don't and/or won't have good resale possibilities because they are in the country, not very close to services, but too-high density to make them desirable, which I suppose means that it's like living in a housing estate, but in the middle of nowhere. The words the real-estate agent used to desribe both areas was "Indian Village", I don't really know what it means. Also, as a foreigner, you don't have the same conception as locals do of "good and bad" areas, it doesn't have the same meaning as it does in your home country, at least it doesn't mean the same to me. My own observation was that 1km down or up the road in some direction barely affected access to services, but gave a much stronger feeling of being in the "countryside".
Masala
Had a bad reputation and the
story has been lingering for a decade. They have cleaned up pretty well ( Cept for one place close to Masala which is still being used by the Kunta as a rehab facility).
What you were told about Langvik and Luoma are information meant for People Earning a lot or suckers who can afford to spend enormous amount of money for a small area in the countryside...
Sundsberg is US style ground-up living area which might be suitable for some ( but not for us ) But pretty good in value.
Masala and Sundsberg have Bus service that takes 20 minutes to Downtown (Kamppi) and Train service that takes 40 minutes to Rautatieasema.
After this downturn, Kirkkonummi was the least affected in house prices going down.
Langvik requires you to have super luxury and frequently servicable car ( as almost no bus service. cept once a day).
Luoma has no bus service, only train, but remote parts need you to have a car.
Both Langvik and Luoma are pretty much places of choice for Many CEOs and middle management of big companies. Another place popular is Kantvik.
I tend to agree with cow-heada on this one.
