Just wondering if Finnish embassy in India will make it difficult for me to get a Schengen visa if I am married to a Finnish national living in Finland?

Failing this, could there be any complications for me to apply for an RP there if I state that I am entering Finland as a tourist for 3 months?

I know I keep on harping about this, but God I'm tense!

Hi, thanks for your response.

Unfortunately, the situation has evolved since I last posted. We have decided to get married in Finland in the near future. Plans were delayed because of a few reasons: Documents (for me) from Home office are taking far too long to come through, and my work permit here is expiring soon; my fiancee has decided to return to Finland to pursue her studies (4 more years) instead of starting in England (her ailing grandmother was another season), and her family would prefer her to get married in Finland, completely understandable.

We wouldn't be faking the relationship, but I understand that being non-EU and 'high-risk', they would scrutinize the application more than normal. The correct way would be to apply from home country, but I think if I am ready to stay away from my wife for 6 months, then that really is a marriage of convenience. I think the relationship holds more water if I am happy to sit on my ass for 6 months, jobless, watching Jeremy Kyle and doing nothing; well some people might dream of it, but that's not me. Still, as I said, I'd rather be with her than without, whether in Finland or otherwise. Circumstances dictate that she stays in Finland.

I only need to 'clock' another 3 years in UK to get ILR, but this really isn't just about me. So yea, its a bit complicated!
