Finding work within weeks is exceptional
Well.. not really. Seen people do it. I don't think the hotels turn down no-speak for the maid service as my friends a teamlead in one of them and her Finnish is... ummm... basic. So I think is just the person is looking under the wrong stones.

I got a job in only 5 days after coming to Finland. It's totally exceptional. I still don´t know anybody else that lucky. In fact, it's a part time job that is hardly enough to survive and I couldn't get any other job since past October. Not only a job, I have sent hundreds of application forms and no more than 3 or 4 replied.

If you are just a few weeks looking for a job it´s still not time to complain. Check this link:

You can see mine and filipdrago's experience. It's going to take more than weeks (more than a few months too) to get a job, you have to work really hard and it's not sure that you are going to get anything. But you are in the right path. You are learning Finnish so sooner or later (probably later) you are going to get something. Be pacient!

ha :) do you know it was actually his experience that made me write what I wrote! I was upset for him and others like him... not for my self,
I know its gonna be hard and I just felt sorry for those that have been trying for months and even till this day have nothing!
