Ouch. I know Kutittaa might seem often a bit rude, but the thing you said it's of quite sensitive nature... I would never wish that to anybody, and you guys don't know each other... you simply don't agree, why such bad blood? Because you know... what goes around, comes around... :ohno:

Hi,

Just read your post and all (well most!) of the replies.

It is good to get as much info & advice on such a huge step in life - some people will encourage you, others will not, and some will say go for it regardless.

It would be too easy for everyone to say what you want to hear - "Yeah, move over there, you will learn the language and get a job and live happily ever after".

I tried it and it didnt work out (I cant be arsed to go into the story) but that was me - other people have made it work.

You are only 23 and you will either move there and succeed, or move there and not succeed, or you won't even move there at all.

If you move there and succeed - well done and you can come back to the Forum in a few years with your story!

If you move and don't succeed you can either stay and be miserable or return home and get your life back together.

If you don't try you will never know if it would have worked or not.

If you & your girlfriend were meant to be together then you will make it work either way or not at all.

So these are your choices in a nutshell - it won't be an easy decision whichever one you choose, but that is what life is like. You get to a crossroads and have to make a decision on what you believe will be the correct course of action for that particular moment in time. Make your decision and have the courage to stand by it, regardless of the outcome.

Or the other option you could consider is working abroad (eg oil rigs/remote area work etc where you do x number of weeks on & off). Just another avenue for you to consider. You would have to look into the tax side of things, but give it a thought.

Thats it without getting too lengthy, philosophical or being a pain in the arse!

Good luck with whatever you do.

Naz

Not sure why people said there were no IT jobs in Oulu...That's quite the opposite to what I've heard. My IT background in my last job was mostly programming with C+ and C# and XML. At the moment in my new job (only been here for 12 months, so would still be classes as a JR for the company) I'm mostly using SQL, javascript and BO logs (although I'm not a programmer). I'm actually working for the company who develop and maintain Adecco's recruitment and HR software, so I'm often dealing with Fins!. But like a previous poster said, qualifications in IT mean jack, if you can prove what you say, that is what's gold. 80% of the high earners in any company I have been with are self taught.

And you are right, you can sit at home and wonder what it would have been like, make it or not, only one way to find out! I am an opportunist.

Like i said, chances are she will come here this year, but I will take this advice on board ;p

Thanks for all the Input, positive or negative, take care guys and girls...
He himself will be on his way back soon, cuz sooner or later, he will receive divorce from his finnish wife. They are on their way to end up their stupid relation.
This made me slightly erect...who can blame her, everyone hates the @#$%' convicts..
'The chans' oh god... I doubt you remember a single word of 'Chinese'
Another presumption. Except making yourself look slightly tardy. Not really sure you understood what "the chan" aka 4chan is....you would enjoy it I think, although a new @rsehole you may receive there :)
Suck it.
Ask your wife to...Oh wait..
