I understand. My point is, it is still at the early stage after 6 months. It hasn't even moved to processing stage.
Online application is supposed to be faster. Many have gotten a decision in 5 or less months. To me there isn't
anything unusual or ambiguous about my application.

I feel your frustration - I'm waiting for mine too (since February) but we have no moral right to be outraged and demand that they hurry. In the end, they grant us citizenship as a gift. It's not in their interests to give it to us, so we should be grateful we even get it.

However, you do have a legal right to get an estimate for when a decision will be given under section 23 of Hallintolaki.

There are certain military jobs in Finland (and related jobs, for instance, their computer admins and even the cleaners) where if you were not born in Finland you cannot even step into that building. Finland has to be very careful about whom it grants citizenship to. It is ridiculous to expect that process to be transparent.

There is nothing ridiculous about it unless you miss the whole point. They can do much better without disclosing what they are actually doing on the application.
They have the moral obligation to fulfill their promises as well. They can be transparent to certain extent...not the "just wait" curse.

I received the decision for my citizenship application on April 29th. Here are the timings for events of the application

24.04.2014 Application is being processed.

26.12.2013 Application has been received.

Still waiting eagerly to know the decision, however, no news yet. I have seen some people applied the same day as mine and got answer already

Anyone else could share with us the experience of citizenship application. It would help others who wait impatiently to relax and calm down while waiting

Hi,
Is it advisable to call Migri and ask about the situation even you can the see the status online as "processed" ? The problem is that process takes between 1 week in some cases and several months in others. How can we estimate the time of an application? anyone can advise here in the forum would be appreciated. I am speaking here only about citizenship online application.

Just checked today, still no any progress for my application. Also, just checked from the immigrant official website:

In May 2014, the processing of following applications will be started
Passport holders:passport holders with accurate applications: applications submitted in November 2013
other passport holders: applications submitted in November 2013
Refugees:applications submitted in November 2013
Others: applications submitted in June 2013
Applications submitted earlier are being processed or a decision has already been made on the application.

I wonder why it is still processed with the applications from November, the status updated in March, April & May are the same. but as I read from other people in this forum, even Jan submitted case had been processed.

update: only two days later, my application had changed completely, now i got the citizenship,

Hi Friends,

Migri gave me a surprise this morning, got a decision and its positive. My application had some issues due to minor mistake Polis made in forwarding the application to the right body(i.e migri). My app. was sitting in libo for six months until I called to see how it was going. It went like this:

07.05.2014 Decision has been made. You will now be notified of the decision either through this e-service or by other means.
07.05.2014 Application decision is being notified.
06.05.2014 Application is being processed.
28.10.2013 Application has been initiated.
19.10.2013 Application has been received.

I know have to admit that I am impressed at Migri's quick action!!

Here is my sequence:

6.5.2014 Application is being processed.
8.2.2014 Application has been initiated.
10.1.2014 Application has been received.

No call during the whole procedure, and I think my case is a bit surprise since it took only 3 months from initiating. Btw, I am not from European country.

Hi,

I got the citizenship decision now. Pretty much four months from the date of initiation, no calls, no further questions. Thanks to Finland they gave me so much already i can't be thankful enough.
