Re: Jumpers for goalposts
Great match last night, well worth the cost of a ticket.
**** that and **** you
Re: Jumpers for goalposts
Here is the full English report of the game...(Thanks to WLM for getting it on the web so quickly. BBC does not even give it a mention...oh..in case anyone is interested England won.)FFCBOY wrote:And what a game it is turning out to be come on you fins.
IMO...If only Finland had just one top class mid field player they would have won...AS WLM says.."If the 3-3 scoreline represents two points lost by the Finns, it was also two points taken off the team currently 3rd in the FIFA world rankings"

Edit..Just had a look at the German reports...
Here is one sample translated...
That was too close.....,
The only thing (or player) what worked in the German team is the Polish striker.

What a game! Great atmosphere too.
Baxter's got them playing some good counter-attacking footy.
He just needs to tell Johansson to not spend most of the match four yards offside and constantly asking for the ball.
England game was a pleasant surprise, too.
Unless you're $tevie Mbe, of course.
Kept the ball well and Heskey is a genius

Wow big changes in the Veikkausliiga at the weekend. Inter loosing Saturday and Honka winning yesterday puts both teams on top with 49 pts. HJK also lost, which confirms the championship as a two horse race. Next weeks top of the table clash in Turku will be as much of a belter as a Veikkausliiga game can be. Its live on YLE 2 next Sunday at 16.00.
Come oooon Honka!

Well pleased with the results. HJK losing was the cherry on the top.
Great season for Honka, but they've got two massive games in fours days.
Knock Racing out on Thursday, plus an away win on the weekend and I'm in dreamland..

Tickets still available, it'll be interesting to see if they get a bigger crowd than Jokerit or HIFK (both playing hockey on the same night).

Re-scheduled a meeting in England so I could take an earlier flight and get back for this game.

Re: Jumpers for goalposts
The only thing I read about this Spanish team is that they have a match against Barcelona the day before they fly to Finland. (?) Does Honka stand a chance?
Anyway, let's hope for a small snow shower and low-flying bubos, then they don't stand a chance

Finnish football writing at its best there: they lost 2-1 to Mallorca at the weekend.
Munitis is not going to play (he's quite good penelope
), Honka are flying...... I hope it's going to be a creditable draw and out for Honka. Just can't see them managing to keep a clean sheet.

Well, Racing haven't managed a win in their first five league games.
They've lost 3 and conceded 10 goals in the process.
Is it all set up for an Alexandr Kokko masterclass...?

"A few days before they host Honka in September, Racing Santander will travel to Barcelona for their second match of the current La Liga season - quite a difference, when you think about it!"
IntEd 29.8.2008
It was the match before the FIRST leg - in Spain. I Think they drew 1-1, but as anye foole knoews, Barca are shyte.
In fairness to Racing, they have played four of the top five clubs so far this season - Villareal, Real, Barca, and Sevilla. And Mallorca are 8th or 9th, with only two home fixtures played out of five...

Knew I had read it somewhere. Thx.

Don't you mean shortened your holiday booked around the inconvenience of a meeting?ChubbyPoacher wrote:Re-scheduled a meeting in England so I could take an earlier flight and get back for this game.
