I got the decision yesterday (15.8.2017) , having applied late November (2016). They asked for additional information on 3.8.2017.

Hello every one,

I want to contact migri to check the status of my application. I have found only one phone number for whole Finland regarding the citizenship application. If I call them, do they only speak in Finnish or is possible to speak in English. Is there any body who contact them by email? Do they answer to emails?

Yes that is the only number where you can contact for the citizenship matters. If you are calling to check the status, you better speak in Finnish. However, you can always ask, IN FINNISH, if you can speak in English.

I applied for citizenship on June 1st in helsinki. I was employed then, but will be unemployed by this month. I have Permanent Residence permit and member of union. I receive money from the union. What kind of forms i should submit for smooth process of application.

Don't worry, wait to see if they ask something. When you applied you were employed and that is ok. If they ask anything about income mark the Kela & union as source and they will find out directly.

Nop, you only need to have income from known sources. Check the last point: http://www.migri.fi/finnish_citizenship ... of_support

What i mean is, If i have PR and income is from IAET kassa, is this sufficient for positive decision?
My two kids are co-applicants. My wife is also unemployed.

Is not a problem for getting the citizenship.

I submitted my nationality application on 27th July in Helsinki. Any other people like me who applied in July so we can see who wins the race to getting the decision?

I have exactly the same situation as you: I was working and paying taxes many years here. Just at the moment when I was applying,I was still working and the next month I've become unemployed.

Good job we already applied for citizenship, I bet now they are going to tighten the rules and make getting it more difficult
