I hope you get it this month before it ends. I am quite sure something is happening with your application, maybe some inquiries from home country..?Alexithymia_again wrote: ↑Tue Jan 26, 2021 2:44 pmCame in 2013 as student, got A permit in 2015, Got PR in March 2020, applied based on Researcher position, and YES its on the List.mani121 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 26, 2021 2:25 pmCan I ask what is your profile? The grounds of applying and how did you come to Finland (with or without RP) and is your country from Migri's list?Alexithymia_again wrote: ↑Tue Jan 26, 2021 2:15 pm
Me too... seeing enterfinland information extending the timeline is a bit bothering. Because at the time of my application the usual time period used to be 6 months. Then the changes followed went from 6 -> 10 -> 12 -> 16 and now 18.

That was fast. Nice way to get the year started! Congratulations!gingerbreadass wrote: ↑Tue Jan 26, 2021 3:44 pmMy time to share the results
Proved my identity in Turku 21.10.2020
Moved into stage 2: 25.01.2021
Decision: 26.01.2021
Background info for those interested: I’m from Russia, came in 2014 as a student, got an A permit in 2018 on the basis of work (part-time cleaning job lol, so nothing “intellectual” / “serious”). Not married.
Last time I checked my place in the queue was maybe 3 days before my application moved into stage 2, and my place was 3052. I kinda had a gut feeling that I’d get my decision in January, but I’m still a bit surprised. Checked my DVV profile; status already updated.
Good luck to all!
Also proved identity in Turku.

There's an electronic signature on the chip that can be read with radio. Are you sure it can't be marked as expired in the same way as passports can?mani121 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 25, 2021 10:02 amYou mean grant you "citizenship", well I think in that case if you are travelling from non-EU country then they wouldn't know whether this residence permit is valid or not, as the expiry on the card is still valid. But I think EU country can check the validity 1 step ahead of expiry date in this case there can be problem.
Re: Citizenship Application 2021
I don't think so, passport is checked in a different way than RP cards. But it is better to ask Migri (some employee with real knowledge) about it.betelgeuse wrote: ↑Wed Jan 27, 2021 2:32 amThere's an electronic signature on the chip that can be read with radio. The time checker on website is on 10-12 months since august 2020. The "citizenship Application" page on migri website has been on 10-16months for long time and so was enterfinland.fi timer at least until Dec 2020. Just noticed today that it changed to 7-18 months. Anyways, the last communication i had with migri over the email, they gave the usual standard answer that it will take upto 16 months. (although before that they had told me that processing on my application will start in Dec 2020, which is not true because i am still on stage 1).
All in all, yes they have all these different timers to safeguard themselves and to confuse the applicants![]()
so yes i have been waiting for 15 months 16 days already
Hey, so sorry that you have been waiting for so long... I've also been waiting for almost 12 months now. Are you already in Stage 2? and since when?

Please describe the difference. Both use RFID and MRZ.mani121 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 27, 2021 9:31 amI don't think so, passport is checked in a different way than RP cards. Re: Citizenship Application 2021
What to describe here? Your passport contains the information which the machine can read if exposed to it and then validation is done. For RP card at least non-EU countries do not have any access to the EU database to validate. As long as long expiry date is valid, the card is valid for them. As enter the EU they will have access to EU residents DB and can then verify.betelgeuse wrote: ↑Wed Jan 27, 2021 11:41 amPlease describe the difference. Can you point to links / information about this EU residents DB you refer to. I am quite sure it does not exist. I don't know how it would be even compiled because many countries do not keep a database about their residents.mani121 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 27, 2021 12:28 pmWhat to describe here? So you are saying Finland or any other country does not save the data of its residents? Interesting..betelgeuse wrote: ↑Wed Jan 27, 2021 3:50 pmCan you point to links / information about this EU residents DB you refer to. I am quite sure it does not exist. Oh, so sorry. Have you already contact them? Maybe when they pass to stage 2 it'll be very quick. Did you check studyinfo to see if they checked your information?Alexithymia_again wrote: ↑Wed Jan 27, 2021 1:41 pmNope... still stage 1.annie333 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 27, 2021 10:08 amAlexithymia_again wrote: ↑Tue Jan 26, 2021 2:04 pm
