Yay! Got my first taste of Ben & Jerry's today at Kamppikeskus. They were giving it away for free. Yummy (Phishing food). I'd buy it in a second if it wouldn't be so ridiculously expensive.

If a Finn hears the magic word FREE he'll queue for anything, even kitty litter.

When I saw how long the queue was I almost gave up, but in the end it took only 15 mins till I got my treat.

B&J's free ice cream day is international. We'll get ours next April.

Fantastic news! I can't wait for my next trip to Helsinki!

I first noticed Ben & Jerry's at Makuuni. Then they said that it's also sold at Valintatalo.

By the way, I don't know if anyone's mentioned this already (too lazy to read the whole thread) but Makuuni has a special offer ongoing where if you buy a tub of Ben & Jerry's, you can rent a video for €2.00.

I visisted Kamppi shoppe today...

all the 14 flavors can be bought home too, the basic flavors that are listed on the Finnish site are 5.90 for a pint tub and the rest they scoop to a pint tub and that costs 7.50.

It's far more economic to buy a tub than 3 scoops for 3 something Euros...

I got me a tub of vanilla heath bar crunch... <3
Get in there...

And in Sello CM. I've spent a lot of effort avoiding that section since the
4-year-old keeps trying to hint that I could buy him his very own tub
of Phish Food for his already gone-past birthday

That was fun, one of my eldest's friends was over when I came
home with the Phish Food and I scooped some for him and
my son. They're merrily eating their ice cream and playing
Playstation when all of a sudden the kid starts poking my son
and says in a real low voice: why are there fish in my ice
cream?

We had some Phish Food tonight, too! This thread should be allowed to die.

We had a special Surf & Turf edition in Texas this summer. There were white chocolate cows in the ice cream.

Ok, I broke down at Stockmann and finally found a flavor of Ben and Jerry's that I like. It's New York Super Fudge Chunk - AKA Rocky Road.

Incidentally, they stocked up at the Tapiola Stockman's with quite a few flavors - I'm not a B&J's fan but off the top of my head, I can remember a strawberry cheescake one, cherry garcia, some other chocolate flavor...

They also still have a lot of Stove Top stuffing for those who want a more American side dish for their Christmas dinner.

And just out of curiosity - am I the only one who wonders if Pirkka buys their baby carrots from growers who put them in manure mounds? They're terrible and I haven't forgiven the Super Vexi from replacing the great Dole ones with them. Now I have to go forage in the back of Stockmann to get my Dole sweet tasting carrots. (whine off) :)
