Aw women aren't that bad right? :o. Maybe you guys are married, and that's probably when they transform from princess into a dragon? Like that program Bridezillas? :P. I think men are worse though, just in different ways... this could go on forever :P. Anyway, just joking :)... not really serious about male or female stereotypes, because its like an age old debate that never ends :P

[ All women can be beautiful no matter what country they are from. Women from three different countries are represented here. I bet you can not even tell.

is that a themed party "look like a business lady" just off a glance #4 could be a Finn, #6 could be also, but she landed on a time machine from Körttiseurat 1958 - thats you then, eh? to be honest you would see that kind of spectrum in Helsinki these days as well... f-m boots definitely but skirts maybe not quite to the waterline... even the religion teacher look, but its reserved for "proper parties" like a graduation or something where you expect to impress your granny and the others are in a "going out maneating" gear.

Are those women or teens? Ain't there even tweens now? So one must be 30 something to be a woman?

This was a posed picture I guess at the bar. They are college students 1 & 3 are twins and may be around 24 yrs and are Bulgarian, I think 5 could blend as a Finn better than 4, but 4 is dress covered up appropriately.Sorry to say no Finns in here, the last 3 are American, one is from Moldova and the 2 Bulgarians. They are all attractive women though. The bulgarians are man eaters though  jj

I guess you would call them 20 something. They are college students. I guess I should have referred to them as young ladies. At what age do they become"women"?

my wife is a very feminine lady, dresses well, has a good job and is certainly my equal... but I guess Iyou could also find ladies who fit these criteria in most countries
I do not agree. Independant women can be found more in the Scandinavian countries and Finland than in other countries. It is shown by several international studies on women's emancipation, women's rights and so on.

And what concerns this thread in which you have men whining about the independance of the Finnish women: get used to it, stop talking and acting like a scared little male species, and be independant yourself. Then your truly equal.

There's been a bit too much generalisation in this post. Many men and women choose partners from a different country or culture because they find it exciting. I must admit that I have always been attracted to women who don't come from the same country or culture as myself.

We shouldn't generalise and say that women from one country are more feminine that the next. It's all about your perspective. Finnish women are some of the smartest, most attractive and stylish women on the planet. You just need to know where to look.

I found this article on google while I was looking for some information regarding the finnish culture.
I have met finnish people abroad and estonian people as well.

What I would like to say, if I can, is that we have a lot of prejudices and stereotypes about people in general.
I am a girl from south Europe and I must say that in terms of aesthetic finnish women and estonian women look very similar to me, therefore it is fairly funny to read that it exists a kind of "competition" between them!

They both are beautiful women typically from a certain area of Europe.
They obviously have a different culture and tradition.
We should not forget about their history and why in Finland women are more into women rights than estonian women.
They had had a different history too.

The environment has influenced the way of thinking.
If I am not wrong Finland has been one of the first country where women could vote. (1906 )
This has been significantly relevant for the development of the country and for the mentality of women as well.

Estonia has been under russian control for a lot and it has been also a very poor country in the past.

I have met and estonian women and finnish women.
They are completely identical to me aesthetically but it also depends on the personality!

As a person from south Europe I find some similarities between them.
They have a lot of similarities if you compare them to women in south Europe!

They can look very introvert ( compare to someone from Spain or Italy or France!) but as soon as you know them you'll dIscover they are interesting to talk with!
Moreover, Finnish are very "unique" ...
Their silence is "famous" especially within men.

I do not think finnish women should worry about other women stealing their finnish men ( who are VERY INTROVERT and they speak with you when you are drunk. If you know them slowly slowly I think it is interesting to know their mind too; estonian men look -to me - more friendly at first. This does not mean than the first ones are less friendly than the second ones! It is just a different culture)

I am sure you know more than me about Estonia and Suomi but ... I like travelling and because I have met a lot of people from different nationalities... I find very interesting to see how people from other countries are different and how we look at each other in a way that it is influenced by our culture!

I think you are stereotyping a little too much... not all Finnish men are 'VERY INTROVERT' and only speak to you when they are drunk.

Normally I think of the Spanish as people who start up threads which are long dead...
With sufficient thrust, pigs fly just fine.

Que?

I think it is when THEY were drunk...

Estonians are more alpha-male approach (russian flair) than Finnish, but in the countryside you can switch 50/50 to Finnish alpha male (local women call it juntti and go suck multicultural dick in Helsinki), its the flirt, the Finnish men have been hurt and burned so they don't understand.

Oh well, here we go again. I think the simple fact is that there is less pressure to conform in Finland - we do have quite traditionally feminine women, we have also quite independent women, feminists, career women, whatever you have: there is simply less pressure and less need to try to please men and to conform to traditional roles. I mean in mostly in that sense they are bit like men are in many societies: free to be as they please, and if you don't like it, it's tough luck - go and order a bride from Thailand who surely will still know her place in the scheme of things. I mean isn't this bitching and moaning a bit undignified?
