I still read here every now and then...too bad there's so much negativity in a lot of threads.
Re: Marrying to a finn
Often the truth is negative, there's plenty of sugar coated half truth if that's your thing.
Re: Marrying to a finn
Well I've only noticed how some of the commenters are so bitter and prepared to write something nasty when a question on marriage/immigration is posted. It's like they feel they own Finland and know all about OP private lives sooo much better and try to mock/discourage/intimidate them, even with almost direct insults at times. Calling immigrants - Sofa decorations. Seriously? I just think that's really unnecessary. And even when an advice is given, it's sometimes written in a deprecating way. I don't understand what's with this attitude... Each person comes from a very different background and you can't just universally say - "you're gonna be this, you're gonna be that, because It happened to me/my friends".cors187 wrote:Often the truth is negative, there's plenty of sugar coated half truth if that's your thing.

What many dont understand except finns ofcourse is that its the real nature of finland, except in the outside community no one says it to each others faces.Ronn1e wrote:Well I've only noticed how some of the commenters are so bitter and prepared to write something nasty when a question on marriage/immigration is posted. Theres a real touch of reality from the Finnish comments, and yes they think immigrants cant learn the language good enough and will always be passively discriminated against , which is true for the most part.
If you were to read most of my posts you will see i often reverse the situation and bag the Finns. Why?, because i can.

Or I visit Pekka and his buddy in their humble cottage and have a nice cup of tea.
