I have a question concerning the period of residence:
If somebody has lived in Finland from 2016 to 2019 and from 2022 to the current day, is that then accepted as 5 years fulfilled or not?

Oh that's great news already, not easy to wait this long. Mine hasn't started processing yet. Hopefully soon then.

Duplicate post. it was not posting for some reason. I never got a confirmation. I was always getting "requested topic does not exist".
Please delete.

Hi everyone, my day has come now and now I become finnish citizen
Applied on 24.06.2024 (No need to visit migri)
18.03.2025 - Moved to stage 2 with the email notification.
21.04.2025 - Recieved the supplement request about income clarification about past 3 years ago, because my income at that time was small. They asked me to submit all banks, and explained why my income was small and how I managed to live. Also, as I also submitted my bank savings, so they also required me to clarify why I had savings while my income was small. I submitted many documents.
Waited about more than 3 months after request.
Today, 01.07.2025 got decision, with email notification. Loggin in suomi.fi and I am now finnish citizen.
Thanks everyone for the support during the difficult time and I wish you all best with decision. Just wait patiently, it will come.
Congratulaitions. Were you on benefits?
When I applied, I had housing benefits but small amounts, but now not anymore. I have jobs constantly in 2 years with fine salary.
They concerned about my income since covid because it was under 10k.
So if in the supplement request, migri is asking me to submit financial statements from past 4 years, and in any of those years if the business income was under 10K, I should already add an explanation about it, add bank statements, and show other sources of income, that were available to me during that year, or send what they are asking in the supplement request, and send explanation and/or bank statements, if another supplement request comes? Which option is better: reply to the current supplement request proactively, or only provide what is being asked instead of providing extra info?

In my case I provided all my company info since beggining (all statements from accountant etc), several pages before I shared a list of documents to be provided when you have Oy. Also I attached all payslips from normal job for the last years. I got citrzenenship in 3 hrs after start of processing without a single question.

Thank you TUserFin for your reply. Mine is not a Oy, just a tominimi, and no jobs held. Was yours an Oy? Sorry if I missed it.
Also, Were you or anyone on this forum asked to send a accountant certificate that you were not required to file financial statements to the trade register?

Hi all
I applied 21.8.2025. Why it said that I don’t have to visit migri? How do we know that it’s automatic decision or not?
Many thanks

It is okay these days that you dont visit migri after application submitted, means they have all your fresh data: national passport details, fingertips etc.
my friend got citezenship just in 2 months - that was automatic, and his case is super-simple. you will know that it is automatic if you get it in several months, but most people wait 9-31 months these days.

Hi!
Would you be able to share some more details about your friend's situation? Anything you can share would be very helpful, like their RP before citizenship and whether they were EU citizen or not. I'm planning to apply soon myself and was wondering in which situations migri can give automated decisions
