It’s been a few weeks since anyone mentioned receiving a decision. Are decisions no longer being issued, or are there just no more 2023 applicants left in this thread?
In my case, my application has been pending for two years without a decision. Last year, Migri told me in writing that I should expect a decision by October 2025 (24 months after submission). But now they say the processing time is 31 months, which feels very unfair since many applicants who applied later have already received their decisions. Also 5 of my close friends applied after me and got the citizenship, my case is easy going nothing complicated.
Because of this, I submitted a complaint. Recently, I was informed that the Chancellor of Justice (Oikeuskansleri) contacted Migri about my case, and Migri has now assigned a specific officer to handle it.
My question is:

Has anyone else here complained to the Ombudsman or Chancellor of Justice about Migri delays? If so, what was the outcome? Did it help move your application forward, or did it only result in a general statement later?
Any insights or experiences would be really helpful — thank you in advance! — feeling disappointed.
Can I ask how long have you been waiting for progress before you submitted a complained?
And how long your it take from complaint submission to notification that Oikeuskansleri contacted Migri?
Hopefully it will help. Fully agree that the process is completely unfair when some receive decisions within months, while others have to wait years without any clear reason.

I am going to call migri tomorrow and ask about my case again and mention that I will file a complaint. I don't know if it is of any concern to them. I hope it is. Then I will file a complaint as well.
I keep trying to have this matter out of my mind because every time I think about it, I feel so helpless and frustrated..

Is it just me not receiving automatic emails “ Hakemus odottaa käsittelyä”?
Migri website says those are being sent every 4 weeks automatically (and I used to receive them), but now it is already more than 6 weeks since the last one I received.

I applied around late January 2024 (almost 20 months ago), still in waiting stage. It could be the fact that I never managed to get a job until recently. I moved to Finland in March 2020, studied Master’s for 2 years then language courses while simultaneously seeking employment. As for the so-called monthly automated emails I’ve been receiving them quite inconsistently, the last one sent to me was on 14.7.

Those emails has been always inconsitent for the last 2 years. Just dont try to build some theories around this that something is wrong with your application ))) I went through the same process as well.

I think this is now my turn to share some good news.
Applied: late October 2024
Positive decision: 17.9.2025
Employed all the time and already had a PR. When it moved to 2nd stage, it took less than 30 min for the decision to come.
Thank you everyone for accompanying in this journey. Wish everybody a good news soon!

My diary number also was similar to yours.
I actually applied in Sept 2024 but I visited Migri in Oct. So I guess from October it counts.
