I just want to drop an update about my citizenship application. I got a positive decision after 19 months of waiting. My country is on the list.

I can now call Finland my home.

Anyone realized that the queue numbers for normal applications (had passport and ID when arrived to Finland) is moving way too slower than normal ?

Lots of people take summer holidays now. Migri is same like any other business… less staff in summer. Also, there are more student permit applications now and seasonal farm workers permits that need to be processed immediately.

Yes they do. If you come to Finland without passport nor residence permit obtained in advance (or neither, mostly these cases apply to asylum seekers cases but not necessarily always) then confirming your identity beyond any doubt takes longer time in investigation thus processing takes also longer.
The other Kamu line for citizenship applications is for the rest (aka who got their residence permit and passport valid when they arrived in Finland)
To know which queue you are at ofc you can check your situation based on above information. And of still unsure compare your line number to someone you know

Ohhh true. Thanks for the reply. A bit sad situation for applicants considering there is an existing backlog since 2020 but still nothing is getting faster anyhow. Anyway hopefully they'll come back to work with more motivation after a great holiday

Out of curiousity, which service point did you visit ?

Does the service point matters?? Just asking because i don't have knowledge about it?

I actually don't think so but can't say for sure. It's just my curiousity and my desperate attempt to guess if service point would have any direct or indirect influence over the application anyhow
