So I applied on 30.06.22
Proved identity 1.07.22, que number was 78xx
Country not on list,
right now queue number 34xx, still waiting

@Svhpk Can you please share if in your submitted application, the Asumisaikaedellytys part, did you mention/ have travelling plan right after the application submission/ identity check appointment? In other words, you did not travel outside Finland while waiting for your decision? I hope this is not too personal to be shared. Thanks in advance!! I informed about my 5,5 month trip back home in Vietnam. I verified that this long trip won't affect my residence period requirement. So I wonder if that slows down the progress of my application - identity 16 Jan | current queue 13 May is 5101 | status: waiting for processing Maybe they wait (AT LEAST) until I come back to Finland to start processing my application? Like a prioritizing rule?

Last but not least, massive congrats on the positive decision, mate! New life chapter begins

Migri can't give you citizenship if you are outside Finland. If you informed them about your travel dates in advance they will not process your application until you come back.

Ah! Thanks, @kalaizanala, if that is the case I'm a bit regretful for not being a little more patient and holding off from coming home until the decision is ready. But well, I never know how long it would take (lucky - 2 months like our buddy above; not so lucky - 2 years and counting like some other mates) and how life will turn out if I did not have this trip. I don't know what I don't know. Will keep believing everything will work out in the end

I have the same situation here
Applied mid-June and visited Migri in mid-June 2022. The queue number was 75xx
Country not on the list
Now the queue number is 33xx
Still waiting for processing

I wonder if you are applying for the Finnish citizenship because you got deprived of your own for being a rude arrongant douche

Keep complaining to the only person who is giving you something to do apart from your whining.

It's still possible to contact the Ombudsman and get a resolution that way. I know at least 2 people who have been able to do it successfully. You just need to have been waiting long enough and know how to make a good case. Claiming that Migri is racist isn't good enough.

Recently, I got my positive decision after 18 months of waiting. I received SMS and email notification when my process had started and a decision granted. I updated my payslips and travel information monthly,

Congrats. I don't think it's necessary to keep providing pay slips. At least that should be completely automatic these days and it should also not even be a requirement. Only to provide payslips right up to the time you make the application. Now that is not even needed because it should happen automatically if you are paying tax in Finland.

Two months. We got a new record I think now. I should have just waited a bit longer and likely would have gotten my decision just as quickly when the system changed. Congrats.

However, in the unlikely scenario that they do grant you citizenship while you are outside of Finland maybe due to an oversight on their part even after haven notified them of your exit, does anybody know how one could re-enter the country or if it’s possible at all ?

By going to the embassy or consulate of Finland in the other country, with the decision paper, so that they make up a passport for you. But it would take around a month, I suppose, while in Helsinki metropolitan area they issue passports in 2 days
