Huge Surprise !! - Residence permit

Post by greenhorn » Fri Jul 22, 2005 12:59 pm

I had applied for extension of my type 'B' residence permit by one more year. I applied for it on 4th July and today when I went to enquire the status they pasted the permit itself on passport !!!

It was a huge surprise for me, as I have heard from others and on this board that it takes anywhere from 45 days to 6 months, top of it this is summer time.

Anyways it is good for me, but still how it happened ??

:D Yeah, They must be working today, I had a call from the embassy here to say my permit had been approved as well!!! Yipppeee!!! So i have a theory, they wait untill they have a certain number of applications in, and then when they have say 100, some one goes and stamps the all and we all get approved at the same time...... cause my application was in on may 4th....

No surprise if you live apply it in a small town

If you live in a small town, like Salo, you can get the residence permit renewed within a few days, even though they recommend something like 14 days.

Thanks, but it also means that I need to stay in Finland for one more year.
