In my fridge, after I make a batch
Haven't seen any, some canned stuff maybe, but really, no Korean restaurants either.
Cheers, Hank W.

You can try the Asian supermarket in Hakaniemi. Never remember the shop name - it's near to the metro station and has a RED door.

There is a new Korean restaurant.. Aptly named, Korea House, Mariankatu 17. Open 'til 22:00. They have a small lunch menu but we found both of our lunches good.
Thank you all guys! Those are GREAT HELP for me
BTW, how about the price of the 'lunch'?

ååååhhh... my sister's vacation has been either saved or spoiled. She used to live in Korea and has been yeraning for the food. Need to make her take me out for a dinner
As a sidenote: There used to be a half-decent Vietnamese in Hakaniemi (which then disappeared), but has anyone run into a Vietnamese restaurant lately in Helsinki

Kimchi is readily available at Vii Voan, the Asian supermarket on Hämeentie, and at Tokyokan (at least last time I checked) on Annankatu,
http://www.tokyokan.fi. At Vii Voan they even have a couple different "brands." You can order kimchi also at Ichiban Sushi in Aikatalo behind Ateneum or in the new Kampinkeskus.

I've been making my own

Definitely no Korean restaurant in Joensuu, though from the looks of it, even Japanese restaurants in Finland have kimchi.

Dang, I've been to Ichiban, but never noticed the kimchi! Arg!
Then again I've promised to go to a pub quiz today and my sis invited me for a dinner - to Korea House

Darn French scheduling. Well, she can test it for authenticity (she lived in Korea for several years), as I'd probably think anything is excellent

In Japan, kimchi is probably as popular as in Korea, you can find it anywhere. The Japanese have a problem putting that many consonants together, though, and so they say 'kimichi'.... just like in the Tokyo subway, in the announcements they say "Tokyo metoro" in stead of "metro"...

They don't always list it in the menu there, but you can still get it, just ask the owner nicely...

And hamburgers are just as popular in Tokyo as in the US, but they call it 'hanbaaga'... But it's still not Japanese and I wouldn't expect to a hamburger at a Japanese restaurant!
