Applied in March and interviewed in April 2020. Got several requests of more info, but the gap from the first to the second request was about 11 months to 1 entire year. Trying to not think about this everyday, and tried hard to not lose my patience.
Re: Citizenship Application 2021
Just questioning , how could queue number go up and not down, it is counterintuitive .PasilanKaveri wrote: ↑Wed Dec 22, 2021 6:42 pmNormal procedure. Just chill. It's like you applied yesterday. There is people who are waiting more then 1 year or almost 2.hotplay wrote: ↑Wed Dec 22, 2021 5:17 pmHi,

Re: Citizenship Application 2021
Migri chatbot says this is normal: "All applications are processed individually. The place in queue can stay the same, change, or even go up during the process. It is normal and there is no need to worry if that happens."
Re: Citizenship Application 2021
That alone makes your case very weak. If you came on other grounds and then decide to apply for asylum, that just shows the desperation. So if they are taking time, consider it a positive sign.
That's usually how it works. For example when applying to universities, many universities require a lot more strict verification of documents from a certain countries because the rate of receiving fake documents from those countries is very high. It would be same with the immigration, there are some specific countries from where lots of people apply with fake documents/reasons so they would want to make sure that you are not one of them.
You cannot generalize here. They might have a general perception that from a country X lot of people have fake documents/reasons, but every case is specific. It could be that they could verify person A's history from your country/situation more easily than person B's.

- there's no verification issue for my case due to the background of living in a third country without weak documents issue.
- by law it is act if discrimination to not have grounds for the extra verification. (In my case, there's no ground as the changing status isn't enough by itself if the documentation I provide are strong enough. Changing status later after coming to Finland is super common and changing to protection is still a change in status that is no different than others). It is in fact confirmed by ombudsman too.
- the verification does not justify the inhumane time refugees have to wait EVEN in case of weak documentation. Again I confirmed this by a specialist but there is a talk between ombudsman and migri about this specific thing ongoing.
Before you write a comment, please consider that the issue we are facing from migri is discrimination by generalizing. It is quite inappropriate for anyone to do the same thing to others. But I don't think you could understand it until it becomes a struggle for you too. And thanks again for your time used to reply
Psychology's definition of discrimination is when the same organism responds differently to different stimuli.
For example, let's say you were bitten by a dog when you were a young child. As a result, you tense up and feel nervous every time you see a dog. The dog is a stimulus which triggers a specific reaction. However, you do not have the same reaction to cats. This means that you discriminate in your reactions to the two different animals.
In generalization, on the other hand, the organism has the same reaction to different stimuli. To apply this to our previous example, let's say you were too young to understand the differences between cats and dogs at the time you were bitten. Now you get anxious around any kind of animal, even though it was a dog that bit you (and not a cat, or horse, or anything else).
In the case described above, discrimination and generalization occur without your knowledge or forethought. These are unconditioned responses. It is possible to condition the discrimination or generalization response to accomplish certain goals.
For example, you can train a dog to perform specific commands (jump, sit, lie down, etc.) by giving him a treat every time he responds to the command correctly. In doing so, you reinforce a specific response to specific stimuli. If the dog is well-trained, he will not jump up when you tell him to sit. He can discriminate among the different types of commands - this an example of classical conditioning. The dog's response to your commands is a conditioned response.
Generalization can also be a conditioned or unconditioned response. When you teach a child a skill such as reading or adding, you want that skill to be carried over into other settings besides the classroom. The student must be trained to generalize their response so that they can use it in real life effectively.
Another type of response to stimuli is habituation. This occurs when the same stimulus occurs so repeatedly or constantly, that it no longer has any effect.
If you hear a siren outside your apartment building, you may jump because the noise startles you. If you heard that same siren all day long, you would no longer notice it, and it would cease to startle you.
It's possible to condition the response of release from habituation by changing the stimuli. If the subject is habituated to a certain noise, you can elicit a response by changing the noise a bit.
Re: Citizenship Application 2021
I didn't mean to offend you, I just in general that if a person travels to a country on some other ground (assuming by getting visa), and then later on applies for asylum that just doesn't sound very genuine, often people do that in attempt to stay in that country.
Yes, but I'd assume changing status to something normal, eg. from study permit to work permit etc. Political asylum is something very different.
Anyway hope your situation gets better. Good luck.

Sorry I'm bursting into the post I just signed up but see no way to open a new post or where to ask a question So I'll ask here.
4 and half in Finland.
Now I see here that you are talking about leaving Finland and employers.
I did not work all the time I was here. I did not find a job, I received an unemployment benefit from Kela and only recently found a job.
Does that disqualify me?
And another thing I went out to visit my family once a year in Australia for two weeks. Is that also bothers? I do not quite understand

Hi, it doesn't matter to Migri whether you were living by benefits or work salary, what it matters to them is that you can proof that you earned money in a complete legal and safe way. For example, they will see if for two months you didn't earn anything (by looking in Kela and Vero books), they will ask you how did you live during that time. You them inform them that you lived on savings, spouse's support, family's or friends' support. You have to make a list of ALL the trips you did outside FIN so they can check that you didn't live abroad for too long, they might think you were having too much "fun" or living and working in another country (while you are declaring that you lived in FIN the past 4/5 years) but then a trips for only 2 weeks in Australia it will not be a problem if you state correctly the dates' and the reason (holidays, family visit)Gabriell wrote: ↑Thu Jan 06, 2022 8:31 pmSorry I'm bursting into the post I just signed up but see no way to open a new post or where to ask a question So I'll ask here.

They want to see that you are reliable and not a liar nor a criminal.
