I am a Chinese asylum seeker in Helsinki, Finland. I want to find a job

Post by ChinaElectrician » Sun May 16, 2021 9:35 pm

I am a Chinese asylum seeker in Helsinki, Finland. I want to find a job. I don't speak Finnish, but only a little English. I know that it is difficult to find a job with insufficient language skills.

I have been working as an electrician in China for 7 years, electrical, heavy current, weak current, network monitoring installation and maintenance, installation of distribution boxes, electrical control cabinets, and water and electricity maintenance.

If you need a job with low language requirements, please contact me.

By the way, I am 30 years old this year, male, graduated in electrical automation.

I have among others, the same skills as you mentioned and had the same profession for years...in the EEU

I never ever had a job in this field of work in Finland...(wrote at least one job application letter a week as long as I live here).
I live here more than 10 years, speak reasonable Finnish (writing is disaster with the double and single consonants) and my English language skills are above average, especially compared to Finns...
I do not want to discourage you, but the this is not the only problem you are facing:

The other problem you will have besides the language skills, is the work in electricity (basically everything above low voltage) will require you to have certification approved in Finland. So having the education and graduation in China or anywhere else in the world for that matter, needs to be certified / checked / evaluated in Finland first.

This means you need to do a Finnish exam / safety test to get certified to be allowed to work in anything related to electricity that goes beyond the normal hobby related currents and voltages (weak current low voltage).

Basically now you are only allowed to some limited work on something that has a power cable with a 230V plug attached on the end so that can be physically unplugged from the mains. (normal DIY stuff).

Some information for you:
