Hello everyone! I just want to share my citizenship journey. I applied on Jan 2, 2022 and got my decision on August 10, 2022. I didn't expect it to be so fast! The queue number on January was 7000+, then when I got an email that says "Processing" on August 8 (queue was 4000+). Then two days after, I got my positive decision!

Congratulations! Do you know what could possibly be the reason for this fast processing in your case?

Migri is currently processing applications applied on 1st and 2nd week of Jan 2022. There is no logic how they pick the applications but currently few people who applied in early 2022 have been getting decisions.

I made an administrative complaint and threatened legal action , people applying 4 month behind me got decision I did not .
I cited : the administrative procedure act, and comments from chancellor of justice reminding migri that delay due to lack of human resource or work load is unlawful.

not sure what migri will respond , but they need to take some accountability , whatever the process they have need to be fixed , lack of resources can not be a reason if the can issue residence permits to Ukrainians in and students in two weeks and specialist fast track in four days . this is !"#¤% and i have had it . and definitely will take their ass to court if the try jerking me around any longer

When you applied? I called them today. Asked, why my application is staying in the stage 2 for one month. They checked it by number, told that all is ok and told to wait peacefully, at least what I understood, my Finnish is still not very good... but the officer told me that application in the stage two for a month is a pretty normal situation. I cannot still understand, if application was opened, why it is so hard to solve it right now :( .

its hard to solve it when the officer is incompetent, or lazy ! prerequisites are a check list , literally all they need to do is to go through the freaking check list.
I applied on October,2021

You applied recently. Mine has been almost 14 months now :D :D . The irony is that the processing does not make any sense if there is backlog they should forget all new applications and resolve applications that have been in the queue since 2020 and 2021. But they just leave those and focus on 2022, I do not know how to qualify this way of working but seems like much of idiots organisation without any road map. No one will feel frustrated or marginalised if they really process in the first come first served bases. People are ready to wait 3 years if the processing is fair. It is sad to see people that applied January 2022 getting it while 2020 people are still waiting.

I got my positive decision on 09.08, my processing started on 04.08 and I had my in-person verification at Migri in late Dec 2021. It started processing at 4500 and then after 3 working days I got the decision. So overall a little less than 7.5 months of ‘waiting’ time.
I think factors like having a permanent job and having ‘adequate family ties’ to the country could be cumulatively reasons for the ‘faster’ processing time

It moved to the stage 2 on 6th of July, i mean this as "open". Usually, when I was applying for residence permit it was staying in the stage 2 no longer than 1 day. I got a message Hakemuksen käsittely on alkanut and i could see that it moved to the stage 2 in my enterfinland profile.
