I waited for mine in stage 2 one month and a half! Was quite stressed cause i had temporary job contract and i am from belarus which sided with rusdia during the war. But it went well and their only concern was that i forgotten to mention 1 outside of eu trip and they granted citizenship when i sent the explanation. I think they check applications for trips abroad randomly at least this can cause stage 2 for 1 month...have the best luck with yours! 1 month stage 2 waiting is stressful and more exausting than 8 month stage 1 waiting... but is pretty normal i would say not abnormal :D
It’s stressful for sure I got the use to it. My is moved stage 2. 1.09.2022. I am hoping get the decision next week sometime 😊 By the way how they did inform you about the decision by text messages or e-mail?
No mail, no call...on last friday of august they asked me for trip info by mail. I responded the same day. Then i was checking my queque number in the chat next day and there was a message that they cannot show me number cause probably there is a desision so i logged with bank account and there it was. Seems many ppl had same experience - mail only about additional info, decision only log in!
I didn’t get any notification as well I was checking randomly enterfinland I saw it was moved stage 2.

Hi,

I have a question in general. Do you use your work email to communicate with migri, or do you use your personal email?
I was wondering if I asked through my work email, will they take my request more seriously?
I understand the citizenship application is a more personal matter (perhaps residence permit would be more work-related) so I have to use my personal email.
I applied in mid-November of 2021. Still, there is no change in my application.

Yes, you are right. 24-26 months is given for third world countries and 7-16 for applicants from EU.
So UK is a third world country (nice phrase)? Actually, yes these days you might be right.

I've been living in Finland for 23 years, Finnish wife, 4 kids, 23 years of income proof.
Applied and interviewed in June 2022- now migri are telling me 24-26 months. For what? A rubber stamp?

Sigh.

Well, I have never told that UK is a third world country (and there is nothing wrong being from first or third world country too). I entered as non-EU applicant and that time estimate had been displayed in my case. I didn’t know that it takes much time for UK applicants too.

Apparently there are two options that I hadn’t noticed earlier: citizenship application and determination of citizenship status. The first option gave the estimate of 24-26 months, second one 3-21 months. Kinda confused which option is applicable in my case. Not a refugee or asylum seeker. Came initially with type B as a dependent.
If it’s B as a student same algorithm go as a Pakistan India
trust in the documents of those country is low. There no data exchange to verify to costumer. Country on the list is the waiting 24-26 Migri is not mentioning the country on the list at the moment but those people are intelligent people so deep searching.

This is not true. I and others I know from "third-world countries" got our decisions in approx. 9 months. It is more a factor of issue with the particular applicants application and/or issues related to the trustworthiness of documents from the applicants country of origin (of course the countries with these issues are often "third-world".

The 24 months estimate might be the standard response they give since that seems to be the upper-bound for these applications. Based off of what you have said about your connections to Finland, it really should not take that long.

Migri is not considering to 23 years or wife kids , 4 years back yard they do investigating it.I sent them all the documentation excepting to 2013 ,I couldn’t find the employer details. They said they don’t need that most important is last 4 years they consider. in your case barking
in view if I am wrong,If I were you ,I do the fone call the express myself about what you should send them.Bfore the things don’t get complicated. Migri get information from DVD and do checking residence statement.
Best luck with your case.

I'm not suggesting that they do. I'm just suggesting that 24 months is rather a long time for such a clear cut case - that's all!

I entered as non-EU applicant .
I entered Finland as an EU citizen, but by the time I did my application, I was no longer an EU citizen.

I didn’t know that it takes much time for UK applicants too.
Perhaps it will, perhaps it won't. But that is the time frame they are telling me right now, 5 months after my application.

I called them when i was in the stage 2. Asked them in brocken finnish, why my application is in stage 2 for a month. She asked me an application number and told that she checked it. Though after it i still waited 2 weeks in stage 2. From my experience it is much better to call in finland. Even brocken finnish is ok, just prepare some phrases in advance...ask to check your application number. And if ur finnish happen to be better than for example mine (i have sort of weak B1) then just call them! They were polite on the phone btw. Do not know if it helps, but it was not scary to call them and did no harm.

Last couple of weeks the queue is moving very slow. The speed was good during August.

They are training the students at the moment that reason might be slow moving.

no mate, no update from Migri.
Just my queue number is slowly moving (decreases by 90 - 100 per month), now 520.
Did you contact them? It is exactly 24 months in your case now. I think you are the one with the longest waiting time on this thread.
Yes, and they replied :
"Hakemuksesi odottaa vielä käsittelyyn pääsyä. Hakemuskäsittely on ruuhkautunut ja käsittelyaika on tällä hetkellä 24-26 kuukautta".

I would be glad if I get a decision within 2 months. I doubt it because the expected processing time is increasing, as they are processing newer applications.

what about your case? did you contact them?
Almost into the 24th now. I did contact them and they have the same generic responses.
7xx in the queue. :x
