I got your frustration and you are totally right. I applied permanent and I have to call them ask them why they made me wait and I got it without that I will be waiting still. For my citizenship again after 1 month if I dont get I will write complain again. My recent complained was taken as case and I am waiting soo if I do not get decision I will complain again and again. At least I will force them to look into my case 😅😅. Many people are scared to fight for their right and if everyone remains calm they will make other suffers. Citizenship application is the most expensive type and taken as low priority which is not at all fair. Lets hope things get better soon 😊
How long did it take for your PR application? Did you get your decision only after you called? After how many months did you make the call? Does calling them really help with the speed of processing? I thought if you had two parallel applications, citizenship gets processed faster.
Well first you have to be eligible even if 2 days is left for your 4 years you will not get it. I thought the same but that is not the case since I was in the same situation. When is your 4 years completed?

I completed 4 years, couple of months back. Even though the current processing time is longer, I heard some people got it as early as within a day to 1 week during this same time. How long was your process?

Mine took 7 months and citizenship has been waiting for more 13 months now. When I got decision for permanent decision my citizenship was 10 months and still waiting for that.

After how many months did you make your complain for the PR? After how many weeks/months after did you receive the decision?

I really don't understand why they made you wait this long. When an officer takes a file, can't he complete all applications related to that file. It would save a lot of time that way. When they have processed the PR application how much more time they need to process the other application. Looks like they don't have any intention of clearing the backlog. You should send a complain every week. Don't wait for another month to send the next complain. They take their sweet time even to respond to the complain mail. Only if they feel pressured from many people they might even consider doing something to improve the processing time. Hope you get your decision soon.

Why hasn't Migri released any customer bulletin regarding backlog in citizenship applications? Last year there was one in May and Nov.

Finally an update from me. My application moved into processing last week (I didn’t get an email or anything, noticed it when logged in to my account). And now I just got a decision!!! My queue number was around 1900, applied in April 2021. I’ve been living in Finland for 10 years, P permit.

I really want to thank everyone on this forum for sharing your experiences and words of support. I’m an anxious person so hearing from others who are going through the same thing helped me a lot.

Best of luck to everyone!

For me its -5/-10 on somedays. I don't understand how the queue can go backwards. Its very frustrating when that happens. I just hope that it picks up the pace soon since the vacations are coming to an end.
