Hi all,
I'm a bit confused about the rights of a Permanent Resident. I have a permanent residence status in Finland since 2019. My previous regular A-permits were on the basis of work.
If I stay in Finland, can Permanent Residentship be revoked by Migri on any grounds other than committing crime? How "permanent" is this status in general?
What if I become unemployed today?
When can Permanent Residence be revoked? What if I become unemployed?

It can be cancelled if you gave false information when applying for it.ilmainen_siideri wrote: ↑Mon Jan 10, 2022 3:17 pmI'm a bit confused about the rights of a Permanent Resident. I have a permanent residence status in Finland since 2019. My previous regular A-permits were on the basis of work.

It will be cancelled if you permanently move away from Finland.
It will likely be cancelled if another Schengen country asks Finland to cancel your Residence Permit (but usually you have to commit a crime for that).
That's not a problem.ilmainen_siideri wrote: ↑Mon Jan 10, 2022 3:17 pmHow "permanent" is this status in general?

that must be a very serious crime you don't want to have on your shouldersFinlandGirl wrote: ↑Mon Jan 10, 2022 3:39 pmIt will likely be cancelled if another Schengen country asks Finland to cancel your Residence Permit (but usually you have to commit a crime for that).

Working in another EU country without having a Residence Permit for that country would be serious enough.PasilanKaveri wrote: ↑Mon Jan 10, 2022 5:40 pmthat must be a very serious crime you don't want to have on your shouldersFinlandGirl wrote: ↑Mon Jan 10, 2022 3:39 pmIt will likely be cancelled if another Schengen country asks Finland to cancel your Residence Permit (but usually you have to commit a crime for that).

Is it true that it cannot be cancelled if the marriage/relationship that was the basis for getting it ends? I assume that is similar to the unemployment question...
